Romance... and pool?

I know just about everyone here has at some time been at the point where every spare minute was spent playing pool, and we know that doesn't leave a lot of time for going out on dates.

I took the game so seriously for a period of about 3 years, that every single girl I met romantically was in some way because of pool. I get the feeling that may be the same for some other posters here, and the stories would probably be interesting. Let's hear 'em!

One time I was playing a 9 ball tourney at a Hawaiin place with 8 foot tables, fast cloth, and bucket pockets. There are some great players in the 9 ball tourney, but I still make second place for a nice amount. I hang around after the tourney to just play some friendly 8 ball. Somebody asked me to play some $5.00 8 ball on the pay table. I say sure, and procede to fall into absolute dead stroke, and start creaming the guy. I get distracted by a girl playing the video poker type machine there next to the table. She is playing "adult trivia"....

And she has the high score. ALL the high scores. And when she moves to the machine right beside that one, she has ALL the high scores on that one too. She is kinda watching my game, and sees I am shooting a good stick. We strike up a conversation. I end up beating the guy 21 games to 1, for a $100 win. Not bad for a no double-or-nothing 8 ball match.

To make a long story short, we become involved for a short time, just fun mostly. I thought it was an interesting way to meet a girl.

Heck, I met my wife by going into one of the casinos in Washington state thinking they might have a pool room, so I could find some action. No pool room, but I played blackjack a little and struck up a nice conversation with a little Belizean chickadee who not too long after became Mrs. Chewning.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

I didn't find out until after the fact, but apparently my last marraige ended as a result of my being so obsessed with pool. My current marriage is fine, and I might add I'm the father of a beautiful daughter now................................................................................my game sucks now!! Give and take I suppose. God giveth me game, and taketh away duh wife. God giveth me wife, and taketh away duh game!

I met my wife in a poolroom. The owner was a family friend of hers. I have been married nearly 9 years and I have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I guess things could have turned out worse.

I met my husband, Harry, in our college poolroom.
He swears he used to beat me, but I refuse to believe it..

I met 3 girls and 10 years worth of relationships in the same pool hall, wish they were still open. I worked there for a few years which made it easy, each and every one of them were marriage material.

Fear of commitment = more pool time

personally i have to admit, ive used pool to pick up woman (ALOT) and ive lost woman because of my obsession, but the ratio is still 99 to 1

girls like winners :D wouldnt you?

<---- never dated a poolplayer after all of these years - you guys think you have it rough....try being a female with a pool passion - boyfriends sure don't like their sweetest gal in a pool room for all hours in a day if they do not have the same passion

I met Mike at the old 211 Club, when I asked him for lessons. It's been 15 years and I have only had 3 lessons, lol.

Maybe it's just me, but even if a girl has head like a pumpkin and she plays pool well, then I'm all in for pumpkin soup:p

But if her ass looked like an apple, I would much rather eat apple pie.:D

Damn,

I wish i had the lucky that you guys/girls have lol

The only girls that come into the pool halls in my town are drama queens, and a bunch of other stuff too.

I'd love to meet a girl who had the passion for pool like i do. It would make going to the pool hall actually worth while.

If pool halls had a singles nite only, that would be sweet WOOT!!!!!!!!

Now on the flip side most of the people i see who do hook up from meeting in the pool hall end up in some drama filled relationship! maybe its just my area.

Nothing real shocking here, but I met my girlfriend/roomate/future wife in a pool hall about 2 years ago. She still goes with me to the pool room about 3-4 times a week.

I've never met and actually dated a woman that I've met via pool. In most of the places I hang out at, if there are women in the pool room, they're usually with their boyfriends, and if they're alone, they had a better game that I did!!!!

I met my wife at the grand opening of a pool room. She plays good, and could be a killer if she took it seriously. She has PERFECT fundamentals without ever learning them from a teacher. She also loves to talk trash and bet with me on the live streaming matches online.:D I consider myself very lucky!

Yesterday was our 12th Anniversary :p

I met my ex-boyfriend playing in a local 8-ball tournament and we were together for over 5 years. All the guys that I know are pool players. It would be hard to find one that didn't play pool and if I did, I don't think that he would understand my passion and commitment to the game. Maybe the reason my ex is an ex is because I put pool before him alot of times!

until you broke up, then it would be a nightmare (or so that has always been my thought) - who gets the pool room? but, I could be persuaded by the right guy, if only he wasn't so shy :p
