Im a vip at riv,but still pay full bca price, ive stayed other places in vegas but always miss all the good action and parties, only riv for me now.Last yr watched Orcolla and SVB play 2 races to 15 late at night.Things might be quite a bit quieter for gambling if pros are not thereSloRoller said:I was there last year and a local dealer told me in a few years you wont be able to find any rooms on the strip for less than $100. A number of the old ones are gone now and the new ones are charging more and getting it (bellagio, venetian, wynn etc..)
I am going again this year and will stay at the riv. I do think the rooms at Circus Circus across the street are better, but the I like the convience of the room being in the casino.
I am waiting on booking my room as I dont see the specific dates for the singles and teams listed yet.

I always go to cashiers cage, they give me a free safety deposit box with a key, very secure, open 24 hrs.mooseman said:This coming year will be my third trip. I've stayed at the Riv the past 2 years. I can see the convenience of staying on site. My only complaint this last year was the safe in my room didn't work. I was advised they would get to it when they could. By the time we left it still wasn't fixed. It will definitely be interesting without the pros this year though.
I dont lose enough to qualify, tried that before, dont gamble there much, mostly bet on sports or horses, since they took out big book i go to hiltonsatman said:First off, did you book thru reservations asking for the tournament rate? If so, you're paying too much. I have a calendar right in front of me. Do you have a players card or slot card for the Riv? If so, call the slot club and ask what the rates are. My calendar says the rates are $50 a night on the weekends, and $32 a night during the week. Plus, if you gamble quite a bit while you're there, you can get that adjusted or even comped. Not sure they can comp you if the room is booked thru the tourney. It's worth calling and maybe canceling and rebooking the room. Just make sure you have the room reserved befored canceling the other reservation.
But you may still get a discounted rate just being a member, even if you don't gamble much. If you haven't joined, I call em and ask anyway, directly, call and ask for the slot club host. It's toll free and may save you a few bucks.almer said:I dont lose enough to qualify, tried that before, dont gamble there much, mostly bet on sports or horses, since they took out big book i go to hilton
