I just booked my rooms at riv for bca, they are now $92.00 us up fr $76.00 last yr.There are not many options left around there, ive stayed at other places but seem to miss a lot if i dont stay at riv

I was there last year and a local dealer told me in a few years you wont be able to find any rooms on the strip for less than $100. A number of the old ones are gone now and the new ones are charging more and getting it (bellagio, venetian, wynn etc..)

I am going again this year and will stay at the riv. I do think the rooms at Circus Circus across the street are better, but the I like the convience of the room being in the casino.

I am waiting on booking my room as I dont see the specific dates for the singles and teams listed yet.

You can find much much better deals in Vegas than the Riv if you are willing to drive there.
I like some of the ones on that same side of the strip and on Paradise road.

A couple years ago a stayed that the Residence Inn for $47 a night.
Easy commute and how often do you really need your room.

Check cheapovegas.com out and others.

I use Priceline ALOT but will say that I am pretty familiar with how it works and what I can expect to get. You can use a site called
biddingfortravel.com to help understand priceline and what you will be getting.
Also dont hestitate to call the casinos and tell them what you want to pay. The Hilton used to have a deal where if you called and gave them a
quote from another place then they would book you for that price.
A couple times I just called and told them I want to stay there and I have a room for $45 to $50 bucks ...can you match and they have said yes.

Also on here last year a person reccommended a place a couple blocks from the Riv that had a mini kitchen and was reasonable but not overly nice. I will see if I can find the name. Do a search here and you should get some results.
Good luck
For the Mosconi Cup the MGM had a great deal going on .. I paid
$80 a night and got $25 credit to spend in their food estabishments.
I told the girl checking us in that my buddy was making his first ever Vegas trip and she upgraded our room !! That works sometimes but have someone really look excited and in Awe. LOL

The Riv is a ripoff for the 92 but they do accomodate pool and thats a plus.

The information you need is on the BCAPL website.

Riveria Rooms

After booking my room at the Riveria about this time last year, we got to the hotel and were bumped to the Frontier. We got some story about plumbing problems in a group of rooms. This was after having to wait around till check-in without being contacted or told anything. This was just a couple of days after it was announced the Frontier was closing in 2 months and everyone was getting laid off. Really made service at the Frontier suck.

Since they imploded the Frontier, I doubt you will end up getting bumped there. Still, we made reservations very early and got the shaft on this deal.

The Riveria gave us each either a free meal at the buffet or a free show. After a couple of nights in the Frontier, we moved back to the Riveria in a nice big suite for our last night there - with us paying the difference in extra cost. The Riveria was dead set in not giving us anything extra, and actually had security guards move in while my wife was complaining. She is expert in complaining.

Im a vip at riv,but still pay full bca price, ive stayed other places in vegas but always miss all the good action and parties, only riv for me now.Last yr watched Orcolla and SVB play 2 races to 15 late at night.Things might be quite a bit quieter for gambling if pros are not there

This coming year will be my third trip. I've stayed at the Riv the past 2 years. I can see the convenience of staying on site. My only complaint this last year was the safe in my room didn't work. I was advised they would get to it when they could. By the time we left it still wasn't fixed. It will definitely be interesting without the pros this year though.

I have my rooms booked for the BCA Nationals since Oct. at $40 per night $50 for the weekend. I was also told that if there were any cheaper rates between now and then I would those rates instead.

It is easy to get these deals...when you are in the casino sign up for player card and then use it when gambling in the riv, they will be all over you to come back again! I am always getting mail offering me free nights and airfare rebates etc.

Rooms at the Riv?

First off, did you book thru reservations asking for the tournament rate? If so, you're paying too much. I have a calendar right in front of me. Do you have a players card or slot card for the Riv? If so, call the slot club and ask what the rates are. My calendar says the rates are $50 a night on the weekends, and $32 a night during the week. Plus, if you gamble quite a bit while you're there, you can get that adjusted or even comped. Not sure they can comp you if the room is booked thru the tourney. It's worth calling and maybe canceling and rebooking the room. Just make sure you have the room reserved befored canceling the other reservation.

I dont lose enough to qualify, tried that before, dont gamble there much, mostly bet on sports or horses, since they took out big book i go to hilton

No Pros

Ugh.. can't find the post that covered this but it was basically due to a conflicting 'bigger' tournament elsewhere. Sponsors... money... etc...

I played in the APA team championships this year in Vegas (also held at the Riviera). Our team stayed at the Circus Circus across the street. We had no choice in the matter since the airfare and hotel was booked and paid for by our LO. Even though the hotels were directly across the street from each other, by the time we walked from our rooms to the elevators, through the 2nd floor to get to the escalators, through the casino itself, outside through the parking lot and past Slots O Fun we would finally arrive at the crosswalk (which if the light flashed DON'T WALK, you'd better not). Then you cross the street and walk through pretty much the entire lower level of the Riv just to get to where the pool was being played. If you were lucky, you could leave your room and arrive at the table your match was on in 20 minutes.....

The walking didn't bother me very much, but the time it took was a MAJOR pain. The 112 degree temps were fun to tolerate as well. If I ever go again, I'd be willing to pay extra $$ to stay at the Riv.

BTW, stay away from that HUGE hotdog being sold at slots o fun....looks good, tastes good, doesn't leave you all week. LOL

But you may still get a discounted rate just being a member, even if you don't gamble much. If you haven't joined, I call em and ask anyway, directly, call and ask for the slot club host. It's toll free and may save you a few bucks.

I haven't been to Vegas since 96 but it seems some things never change there. I think that last dog is still with me.

Check out the places on Freemont Street. We have been 3 times for the APA championships,we stayed at the Riv once ,but had more fun on Freemont St. The next time we stayed at the Golden Nuggett , it might be a cab ride away ,but we had a blast on Freemont st at night !
The rooms were nice and they have an awesome pool area !!

No, that's not it. The Enjoypool pro event is sponsored by the BCA, not the BCAPL (they are two separate and distinctly different organizations). Therefore, the pro tournament was moved to Charlotte in June, to coincide with the BCA trade show there.
