Does anybody have the results of the Rum Runner tournament in Las Vegas over the past weekend? Thanks!......................Marc

I heard J. Parica and Al (don't know the last name, but he works for SouthWest?) were playing for the hot seat, but don't have the result

Rum Runner

Actually the Andy Mercer Memorial

1st: Brian Parks (came from loser side)
2nd Jose Parica
3rd: Al Lawrence

I left early, I believe Danny Petralba and Tommy Dilorenzo came in 5-6th. Tony Chohan was either 7-8 or 5-6. And Tom Butler was up there also, maybe 4th.

Sorry Best I can offer. GREAT event 64 players (field limit) played on Diamond Smart Tables. HUGE calcutta.

Try to get better info later today.

Brian

Way to go Brian Parks.

On Saturday I saw Brian at the APA SouthWest Challenge and he said that with the Calcutta 1st would be worth about $8,000.

It will be nice when Mark Griffin gets the final numbers for us here at our computers everywhere.

Thumbs up for a great win for a really nice guy. Just so happens to play great pool as well. Good job Brian!!!

Way to go Brian...

Right on Brian.. Hope you made some dough. I hear the insurance business is kind of lucrative too.. :p

Congratulations Brian

Great job-good shooting-congatulations. I've had the pleasure of seeing you play in a couple of tournaments. You are cool under pressure and know how to get it done. Any body doing major tip maintenance during the finals while you were shooting at this tournament? LMFAO Your offer to wait till they were done/ or to loan tools was classic. Makes sense- you are a class act-your shooting does the talking.

danny petralba lucked out and beat chohan. He then played Brian who just then beat dilorenzo.Brian beat petralalba and then played Al for the final of the loosers bracket.talking about slow players,Al is so slow that he can make kid delicious look like a fast player.

A tip of the hat to Brian, who has showed potential since he was a teen. Like Louie Ulrich, he seems to be coming into his own now. Kudos to Al Lawrence also, a long time Vegas buddy of mine. A good player, fine cuemaker and helluva friend. Yes, he is deliberate, but so are a hundred other good players. Glenn Atwell and Johnny Archer come to mind first. Jeff Carter played slow and so does Jeff Heath. Both good players. Varner is no speed demon and neither is Buddy, and no one plays slower then Dick Lane. And Dick was a top player for many years.

Not everyone is a Luc Salvas or Tony Drago.

Dick lane`s nick name is- 'S&S' -slow & shaky.

Danny Petralba might have "lucked out" but I like to give him some credit when its due. He is a great player and can beat anyone on a bar box at any time. Maybe CHohan underestimated him. I dont think any one should. He has been living in the shadow of all the great Filipino players that come here. But I believe he can hold his own.
