Had a guy ask me if i had heard the news?? what --SVB vs ARCHER at his room any info on this????

It is something that is in the works. Who knows if it will happen or not but for sure a great match if it is a long race.

If it is nine ball, anybody who wants SVB, lemme know. I will take Johnny.
If it is ten ball, anybody who wants SVB, lemme know. I will take Johnny(just not for as much, lol).

DITTO THAT.

Why would SVB agree to play on Johnny's table? IMO Johnny has a little edge in 9-ball playing most anywhere, and Shane has a little edge in 10-ball. Playing 10-ball on Johnny's table might take that edge away. Johnnyt

I don't think Johnny spends much time at his and Kim's room anyhow. I'm there a couple/three times a week and I *never* see him. Granted, he's been tripping around doing that thing with Earl and bfdlad lately. Kim's there much more.

I see your point, but I'll still take Johnny in both games if they play at his room. Johnnyt

I like Shane whatever game.

In the past few years Shane has won the US Open 9-ball Championship, the Predator 10-ball World Championship, the Derby City Classic 9-ball + destroyed Earl Strickland and Corey Deuel in 100-65 and 100-70 in 10-ball, and won 23-19 against God himself, Efren Reyes.

Yes, Johnny has been close to win one of those majors too, with a 4th in the last US Open 9-ball Championship + a 5th and a 3rd in the last two Derby City Classic 9-ball, but he hasn't been able to snap it off. Shane has.

I heard this rumor on a live stream chat -- hope it comes to be. I'm on the fence with this one at this point!

I kind of agree. Shane is hunting the big guys, and is obviously even willing to play on JA's hometable.

I know Fatboy said that the window was open during DCC, and if people wanted to play JA, they were ready.

Well, Shane could probably just have said the same, but he didn't. He were hunting for action, and got it. He played two of the best players in the world, Efren and Busta.

Did JA ask anyone to play? Probably not.

To me, that says that Shane is more hungry than Johnny.

I think that will mean a lot if this match will happen.

The truth of the matter is logistically, Johnny would have a hard time going anywhere to play SVB, and besides, Johnny doesn't really gamble much anymore. Just the occasional young gun, who tries and usually hates, it, lol. The fact is JA is a businessman now, and not a 20something poolplayer who can go to the Philippines. The truth is, SVB hasn't been that same hungry young player since Alex put that comeback beatdown on him(no offense meant, but it was a beatdown). The only "world champion" player he has beat this year is Efren, and anybody who saw that match knows that it wasn't so much Shane winning as Efren losing, at least imo. Johnny might not travel that much, or like Diamonds in terms of gambling, but his Gold Crown isn't gaffed, and last time I checked, NO ONE was barred. I highly doubt that SVB will go and try it, but kudos to him if he does, and I will happily bet on JA. In fact, just like I said when Nevel and Archer played, I would have even more respect for Shane(who is obviously a huge part of the future of American pool), but unless somebody does finally beat JA, he is still the man here, like it or not.

This is starting to sound a whole lot like when Stevie and Bartram played. You guys are confusing someone who doesn't go out looking to gamble with someone who can't. Big mistake, imo.

Ok, I can't help myself. Roy I knwo what you are up to Euro Boy... I know that you could never mention anything that JA actually won in the past 12 months but thats ok.
second from what I can gather it will be played on VERY tight pockets GC.
and JA just went out of town a few months ago and played a 10 ahead for 10k I think on someoneelses table. I think it was hennesey I could be wrong on that my mind is going out.
However I agree with most of you on here that that would be a great match up. I mean at DCC The played each other twice and both won a set. If it happens I will fly to Atlanta and sit there all night if I have to to see this one.

Nevel that was it not Hennesey

He actually played both Henny and Larry Nevel
