I know this thread is old, but it is appropriate that I come full circle with Harry. I first met Harry in 1986 at California Billiards when it was on Steven's Creek Blvd in San Jose, CA. I was introduced to him by Bill Brown, who was my instructor. I was just 19, and had no $ or record to speak of. I was a porter at Saratoga Lanes (nearby), and was learning on 5 Brunswick anniversary tables they had there. Harry gave me free lessons, and made me a cue for $40 since I was so broke. He knew I was a 9 ball player, but tried his best to get me go all in on 3C and 1Pkt. I was grateful for his lessons, and adopted his knowledge for 9 ball. I was so unwise not to deep dive with him on 3C. He gave me his pamphlet as well "Key Shots". One day I was eating, and put my case (pamphlet & cue inside). After finishing, I was missing the case. Someone had snatched it, and I was nauseous about it. Many years later I acquired a copy of "Key Shots" from Bob Jewett, but I've never seen the cue anywhere since. It was one of his higher end works, very sad. Harry was a very generous man.
