I wish him good luck with the new room. I've enjoyed watching Sal play on some of my Accu-stats videos and I think he plays pretty good.

I heard they're trying to get a 10 ball tournament on the second weekend of December. Just a rumor but I'll find out more info and have them post it in the tournament section. Bar box, I think.

I hear they have Diamond Tables how many are bar boxes...I will be there for sure if its a 10-ball tourny on 7ft. tables

This rumor is TRUE!

Butera's
476 West Los Angeles Ave
Moorpark, Ca 93021

Grand Opening Today!

4-9' Diamonds and 6-7' Diamonds.

I hope the fires don't keep folks away. They already closed my route to them from Pasadena (210 to 118).

"Machine Gun" Lou Butera (BCA Hall of Famer) is to be in attendance today!

Good luck, Sal.

Your dad and I both know how difficult it can be opening a pool room and consistently showing a profit. I'm sure with your background you'll do well with it.

Any Pics

Did anyone go to the grand opening? How was it and did anyone take any pics. of the place? Good luck to the new pool room. I have lots of family in Oxnard and if there is any info on the tourny please post asap I would love to make plans on going down to support the pool tounament.

Sorry to say I missed out. The wildfires caused many a freeway shutdown - including my 210 to 118 route.

Perhaps Marop went?

He's very close to the poolroom.

I stopped in for about an hour, standing room only at that time. There was free pool until 6 PM, live band starting at 7.

Nice room, all brand new Diamonds, good atmosphere.

I always like to here about new rooms opening, that is certainly a good thing for everyone. But, I have no idea who Sal Butera is, is he Lou's brother, or Lou's Son, or Lou's Grandson!!!! It would be nice to know.

Take Care

Sal "Son of a Gun" Butera is BCA Hall of Famer "Machine Gun" Lou Butera's son.

Sal was a touring pro (PBT, Camel Tour) for many, many years. He was also a selected pro of the IPT.

I spent a good many sessions of sparring with him and he is a very, very good player

Sal was also Vice President of Quintessentials Game Room stores (4-5 locations) for many years.

Lastly, Sal, and his father, owned & operated Butera's Billiards (quite successfully) in Simi Valley, Ca for many years (priors to Lou's move to Vegas and take over of Pool Sharks - formerly Cutopia).

I was going to head up that way, but I did too well in my Sat USPPA tournament winning 3 matches before losing, for 4th place.

From there I had to head to Thousand Oaks for my daughters CIF volleyball playoff match. They won best of 5 !!!!!!!!

I heard that Sal's place has been open for a while and that they were just having an open house of sorts.

Haven't seen Sal for years, so I will have to head up that way soon and say hi.

Russ.........

I just talked to Sal about an hour ago. The poolroom is going very well for him thusfar and he has added APA leagues there with more to come soon.
