I have a question. What is your opinion of zero feedback buyers on Ebay. I have a Predator SP4RJL on there now with the high bidder being a zero feedback buyer. There were also a couple of other zero feedback bidders earlier. This has happened on a couple of items now.

How do you feel about zero feedback bidders. I know we all have to start somewhere, but I am always uncomfortable in today's Ebay environment.

Hey Joe - I block the negative feedback bidders, but I make the zero guys CALL ME before they bid. If I am satisfied with their answers, I let them through. State clearly in your listings that you will strike zero bidders if they do not contact you first. Scammers will not call you. Good luck!

I bought a satin SW my first buy on ebay and the seller made me jump through some hoops. Bottom line was that he wouldn't sell to me unless I had the money wired from my bank to his... wire transfer I think it's called.

I guess that was good business & I'd probably do the same... espcially as it's gotten even worse these days than about 8yrs ago when I made my first buy.

ebay

You said it yourself everybody has to start at 0. Provided that your the seller you don't have to ship til you get a secure payment. I would be more worried about buying from someone with 0 feedback.

Joe,i would let it go.you answered your own question with we all have to start somewhere.i usually pass on the Indonesia and Singapore and a few other oveseas places, but allow Zero feedback and European transactions.

Hey Joe,
My feedback score just hit 1600, 100% positive.

I DO NOT allow new users to bid/buy, UNLESS they contact me first. If they contact me, or quickly respond to my email and confirm that they will pay via PayPal, to a Confirmed Address, within a few hours of the auction end, then I welcome them.

Otherwise, I cancel their bid and place them on my Blocked Bidder List.

Sometimes zero's don't pay and you are out the relist fee for your item. Never ship until payment has 100% cleared and you will be ok. If your buyer is paying via PayPal...NEVER! ship to an unconfirmed address.

untrue... my paypal cleared to my bank account for 3 days (7 days total from withdraw from paypal.) after that 7 days paypal contacted me and said the funds were unauthorized and i had to give back the $$$$$

yes wait til 100% clear and always shipped to confirmed address.

What happened to the item you shipped?

I have quite a few zero or low feedback winners win my auctions and not pay, nor will they respond to email after auction is over.... It's just a big hassle to me.

I just cancel their bid and block them if they are under 10 feedback. I clearly state in my auctions that I will do so, and I still have several bid anyways....

i got it back. i was notified just in time. took some work but it worked out. huge pain in the butt

i bank at commerce and the bank rep said paypal can not go back into my bank account without authorization and take back the cash. so i was kinda covered. i would have just had to fight it out with paypal

Joe,

It will hurt your bidding action, but if they are legit I think it's only fair to let them bid. I contact the 0-feedback bidder with a pleasant email, then based on their response either cancel their bids, or let it ride but add a note in the description that any 0-feedback bidders have been contacted and are legit.

I have had a couple of 0-feedback bidders who were wealthy vintage baseball memorabilia collectors who only bid on ebay for extremely rare items. They paid out their noses.

You know what they say about karma.

I am one of the guys that has only a 1 rating.I have only bought one thing of e bay.I would not mind if some one was very careful selling some thing to me.We could use one of the escrow places that way we both are protected.I think the reason I have only bout one thing is I am kind of scared after hearing the stories of dead beat.
