that's not even a logo.... it's a graphic of an unrelated object with random spacing on the words.. but hey whatever floats your..err flies your airplane.

It's a cool plane and all...but I believe that it leaks fuel before it is warmed-up -- so would that mean than when Sara is not moving around the table and before she is warmed-up, that she leaks fluids?

Edit: No harm meant...just joking around...

In 1964 I ws TDY to Fort Greely, Alaska. It was the Articic Test Center for a lot of things. One of the things I tested were proto type tracks and trucks to see if they could take the Artic weather and if I could get them to break down. One morning just as it was getting light out I saw them testing a Blackbird at Eielson AFB. It either came out of a long ass hanger or from in back of it, but it was in the air in seconds. What a plane that was.

About 20+ years later I worked for a retired Air Force General named Doisier, he retired after the Bay of Pigs screw up. He voiced his opinion of Bobby Kennedy and was forced to retire. He told me I should never have saw that in 1964. There was a lot of top secret crap up there back then. It took me almost 3 weeks at Fort Lewis to clear out of the Army with all the clearances we had to have up there. So the Blackbird WAS at some bases in 1964. Johnnyt

That's pretty cool!

My post sounded like I think I know what I'm talking about, but it was actually a copy and paste from Wikpedia. lol I'll fix that.

I was still crawling in 1964. :D

The blackbird may be old, but it's still the fastest plane "known" to the public at this time. There are rumors of a pulse jet replacement called Aurora, but there's no locked-up proof.

I like the concept, but if you design a logo it should be replicable on a shirt and letterhead--- this one can't be.

I like the idea though.

Dave

Why not, Dave? Look again.

I like it. Maybe add a little more color of red somewhere to signify Sarah's beautiful hair color. :)

JAM

Good point, JAM. I like it.

The SR-71 is still my favorite aircraft. I got to play around a couple of them at Dryden a couple of years ago. But they are past their prime and retired- not generally a good idea for a logo.

Honestly, with Sarah's size, hairstyle, and playing ability why not go with the Raptor if you want an aircraft theme. Nothing can touch it. You can't see coming and by the time you realize what happened all that's left is smoldering wreckage.

I understand the idea of why the blackbird was selected for this graphic design. But in my mind it does not connect to Sarah as a player. In any effort at logo design you want to keep the design simple while at the same time finding some means of representing a central idea that connects to the person/product/service that is being represented in the logo.

From what I know of Sarah as a player, the Blackbird just does not come to mind.

As a professional graphic & web designer I would for 1, want to know what her favorite color is. That would give me an element that would help to personalize the logo to Sarah. Im not sure what Sarah's nickname is, if she has one, but if she does, that may give an additional element that could be incorporated into the logo design effort. And I would look for a more feminine font to be used in the logo design effort.

You make good points, Dave. The problem is the Raptor has nothing to do with the name, Sarah Rousey-----------SR in the SR-71 Blackbird.

Just for the record, Dave, I like the way you worded your statement. You obviously are trying to be constructive, which I appreciate. BTW, I owned my own graphic arts business in Chicago for 20 years. Sold it in 1999 and moved back to Jackson, MS. Marketing made me a lot of money over the years.........Best of luck to ya...

I'm not trying to be harsh, but are you for real with this? I knew sarah before she was pro and was playing in local tournaments...she always struck me as very feminine and bubbly. I don't understand how the heck an jet plane embodies any of her qualities or playing abilities. Have you asked her about the logo, or is this just something your having some fun with?

that was kinda cool so I had about 5 mins to goof around w/ it for fun :D. Anything to take my mind off what I'm currently doing.

I'm sorry, I wanted to like it but I can't. I am acquainted with Sarah, and it doesn't fit her, IMO.

Something fierce but feminine maybe? I haven't seen her in a long time, but that's how I remember her.

...and it goes without saying, "She's one hell of a player!" How bout a stick of dynamite or TNT incorporated into the logo? Small, but explosive!!!!!!!! it's red too.

I kind of like that name, Sarah "The Raptor" Rousey. She sounds scary, huh.

Hey, I like it, Jay. BTW, Sarah is a friend and I'm just playing with her. Knock-um in the creek, girl.

Guys.... the dinosaur is kinda cool. And the SR-71 Blackbird is, was, and will always be a pretty sick lookin' plane, but let's face it. None of these things really speak to Sarah THE PERSON!!!!

Is she a monster player??? You betcha! But a plane thats faster than the sound barrier? Not really!

Is she a beast on the table??? Metaphorically speaking, sure!!! But is she a prehistoric creature that, according to the theory of some paleontologists, evolved into modern days birds? I fail to the see the connection.

After seeing some of these "misguided" efforts, I felt that it was time to put this tom-foolery behind us. I have taken precious time out of my workday to solve this puzzle once and for all.

HERE!!!

THIS should be Sarah's new logo to go with her good ol' nickname!!!

Folks, it is my pleasure to announce... Sarah "MY BFF" Rousey

No thanks necessary.

I must be missing something Bill, or there is a story about Sarah that I haven't heard. How does an AF plane match up to something about Sarah. Johnnyt

They both leak fuel while sitting on the runway???

:D

How about a caricature of the Chevy SSR P/U... with Sarak on the door, the logo initials could mean 'SERIOUS Sarah Rousey"... just an idea

Well Hemi...it was a good effort, but I'm not so sure a speeding plane really represents me in anyway, considering I'm a little girly and tend to move at a snails pace most of the time. It was a cool idea though.

Wei...your logo is cool. That one was actually on some t-shirts, pins, hats and stickers at cafepress.com. I think my dad was the only one that bought one! But regardless, it looked pretty cool. I'd say that one kinda captures me a bit more.

Brian...my dear BFF...thanks for the flashback to childhood with the carebears. I always knew you wanted to be a purple or pink carebear when you grew up!

If someone really does have some ideas for stuff I would appreciate it, the website needs some renovation.

Thanks for the good laugh this morning.
Sarah
