Say it ain't so Michela Fired!?!?!

She quit because she didn't get her usual discretionary bonus. She was promoted for being an attractive female, who is a good referee. Now she's suing for sexual discrimination...unless she's gotten sent dick pics I don't think it's going anywhere.

She's refereed pool and snooker for many years. and her abilities as a ref have been solid. No ref is flawless but her standard has been equal to her male counterparts. She's even been good at keeping Earl and the crowd in line, haha.

It's not clear from the small articles what the basis is for the sexual discrimination (unless you have some inside information).

Nah I got nothing just a fan.

I think she is a top notch referee. She deserves a high level of respect.

The stories are vague. You NEVER hear the whole story at first. Who knows how this will end. Especially considering how European law handles it compared to US law.

Michaela is a good person. Unfortunately, being a woman in a male dominated profession subjected her to many unwanted advances. Hard to believe? Just search her name on this very forum and you can be sure that even some of the members here have made similar comments. Is it out of the question she faced some of that at work? Hell no. (For clarity, I'm not suggesting Barry himself has done so. Still, there may very well be someone else. Either way, I hope the truth comes out. Whatever that looks like)

Somebody hit on her at work...so what's that worth?
World is brainwashed. So PC that people can b quit their jobs and sue later for nonsense. Sad thing is the lawyers Wi likely pay her off with an agreement so she goes away. This is what feminism gets you.

Wow. I guess you have no idea what real sexual discrimination looks like. (Not saying that happened in this case.) keeping your job shouldn't be dependent on sexual favors. In fact, that's the same as rape.

I think what 2strong4u is suggesting (possibly) is that instead of lawyering up and sueing when somebody (a boss) makes an unwanted advance, maybe she should just kick him in the balls instead, warn him of a lawsuit if it happens again, and move on with her day.

I think you folks are mixing up sexual discrimination with sexual harassment. Sexual harassment in involves calling derogatory names like "Sugar t*ts" or maybe sexual favors
Sexual discrimination on other hand is more battle of sexes thing - like maybe they sack her cos they kept a male referee over her because of her gender.
So sexual discrimination does not really involve these hanky panky sex you folks are alluding to, it is more to do with gender.
But it is hard for her to argue that her employer discriminates against her cos when they employed her ,they fast track her (without having to do 5 yrs apprenticeship ) over other male referees and in a way discriminated against other male referees

Is that actually what happened? Where did you get your information?

If she wasn't physically abused or harassed via stalking or something similar, but just received the odd impolite comment, then I'd suggest she start her own company and do things as she wishes.

I remember years ago when she used to post on another forum, and she seemed like a balanced and smart person. But this kind of civil action is annoying to me, if it's true that no one has violated the non-aggression principle. Don't like your bosses?, then leave. It's not your business.

Get a life dude, or at least get out of the house more bro. I didnt even read the article but I am certain it is nothing like rape - COME ON! So let's be honest, not that I would ever say this about myself and post it on a forum but for real a hot chick will always get hired or promoted over some pig. Its just the way it is and we see it all day, every day. And if someone called her sugar whatever why can't it just be taken as a compliment, which I'm sure it was. Everyone is too sensitive nowadays. And to play the devils advocate, how many women use their " assets" every single day at work to get ahead? My experience 98%.

I hate this PC BS and everyone having their lawyer on speed dial (I know their is no more dials), waiting to sue someone for something their big mouth got them into. Johnnyt

Thank you for attempting to clear this up. You must realize by now though, that logic is not the strong suit of many here.
