Schon sucks

You could just buy a broom and put a tip on it. Gotta play close to the same

Schon isn't great at email, but they're actually great to work with. Give them a call, they'll get you taken care of. My friend just did a custom order from them including a matching joint extension which they had never done but executed perfectly and the cue turned out great!

aint never gonna hear from them again, according to the weather here.
sucker. f'n sucker!!

I have had multiple deals with Schon over the last 20 plus years
and I give them an A plus

I like it with Runde,I enjoyed working with evan
and John is a great person to work with

The cues play great, they seldom need service issues

But I only bought about 300 cues from them
70 were special tributes that they really out did themselves

I played with several ,keeping one for over 5 years
until Gilbert Martinez fell in love with it and informed me that
he needed it more than I did

I bought 7 or 8 from John ,but i was cutting back
due to age and effort, the quality was the same
and still is ,as far as i know

Honestly I found their service and quality to exceed most custom cue makers

forgive me for saying positive things
i know they are not fashionable

If you want a great cue at a fraction of the cost of most custom cues
buy a schon, you will love it

Trade it for a McDermott !!! (I still have my old McD D-3, but it ain't for sale or trade),,, good luck gettin you one !!!
Most folks tell you how much they love Schons no longer own one, hmmm.....

Lol... Too attempt to compare a McDermott to a Schon shows your lack of understanding.

I just wish they weren't so stiff. Schon, by far makes the best looking production cues. Seems like a lot of people like that hit, so why change.

Same deal with SW, great looking cues but too stiff(for me) wish I liked that hit/feel cause I'd own a few of each.

Every once in a while I will play with a stiffer cue to see if my feel has changed, sometimes it feels like I'm getting closer.

Good write up Dean:thumbup:

Maybe if the joint could be changed to like a Radial Pin joint, and the taper extended, then the Schon would hit much different (much less stiff of a hit). This is only my opinion, but I think the super stiff hit comes from the huge piloted 5/16x14 joint, and the very stiff tapered shafts that come standard with Schon cues. They are also so solidly built, and when you put them together, it makes them hit like a 1 piece cue (that is how solid they are). Very stiff hitting cues. I agree.

WHY, I really mean WHY?

Why would anyone call you back?

RECALL THREAD; "Why does pool attract so many broken, crazy, Degenerate, mental type people."

You state crap like this about the entire world of Pool and then you wonder why no one gets back in touch with you?

High five to Shon, great job, great company.

You can tell me off again OR you can say, maybe this guy has a point, smile and move forward. Pool is a great game, I started at age 6 in 1970, never had a problem.

He didn't state that about the entire pool world, he asked a question that has a lot of truth to it. Is there any other sport other than darts thats played mostly in bars? Usually people with healthy relationships are not spending enough time in bars to get very good at pool.

And thats as far as Im going with this

From my experience,

If they have an old, outdated website that tells me the company/cuemaker isn't really tech savvy and they're usually easier to get on a phone. There's an instructor - I won't mention names because I don't want to make it sound like I'm griping. I'm not. Just stating an example - who I have e-mailed a couple of times and received no response. That said, I've called this same person a few times and they pick up on the third ring almost every time. That tells me they aren't tech savvy and phone is the best route.

I've found if I e-mail Jacoby they respond within the day but if I call it doesn't get returned. That tells me they babysit the computer more than the phone. That's life in every industry.

A quick look at Schon's site shows it hasn't been updated in two years.
