Scott Frost is Looking to Play Efren Reyes

I am not saying that Scott can beat Alex, but the odds were stacked against Scott from the get go in that match at Hard Times.

Those Gold Crowns strongly favor players familiar with them. Alex had been there for a few days playing Efren and had them down. Scott comes in, practices for a while and gets down. Not too smart on Scott's part, but when you are an action guy with a stake horse, you do not make any money sitting on the bench, so you take a shot. Similar to what happened with Bobby and Efren.

Of all the Filipino's, Alex is probably the best one to match up with if you can win and Scott knows this. They (Filipino's) usually match up fairly snugly. Again, similar to Bobby and Efren.

so why did scott make the call and them drive all the way to hard times to play if the odd where so stalked against him? I was there. all scott could talk about is how much money they brought. then he played one set get crushed and went home and hasnt been seen since.

I agree with almost all of your post, the only thing that is incorrect is that Alex played SVB not Efren. They played for three days on that table, probably about 30-40 hours before he played Scott. Shane had Alex down 15K, he was 10 game winner, five at 1K and five at 2K. Alex came back and won 8 games at 2K per game and ended up winning 1K. That is some heart! To be down 15K, 10 games of one pocket and come back and win a little money!

John, shane and alex played on table one, Scott wouldnt play on that table for that very reason. That is why they played on table 6. I was there for the entire negotiation.

Pretty hard for a stakehorse to hang in there after the beat down he took. Then the Bonus Ball mess set him back some more.

I personally would like to see Scott get back to where he was, one of the best one pocket players on the planet, who has more gamble than most, and is always trying to drum up some action when he is playing.

Maybe Detby City will be the start of some good rolls for him.

I left before Alex played Scott, I never knew that they switched tables. I watched part of it on the stream and didn't realize I wasn't watching table 1.

Thanks for the info.

For what its worth, I dont think it would of mattered what table they played on that night.

I watched Scott play Alex at Hard Times, Los Angeles last year. He played pretty poorly and Alex played great. I'm not sure Scott would have won that day with his best game. Effren is not the player he was say three years ago. Father time is catching up with him. At this point, I still think Effie would win because he is still playing regularly and Scott isn't. I liked Scott's game 3-4 years ago but not now. There are now several players who could be considered the best one pocket player and neither Scott or Effie would be on my list. If Scott really got back to playing he would be right there with anyone but that's a big IF.

Thats true of alot of folks.

I like Chris Gentile's game. But as I understand it, he is a poker player that plays pool. Meaning, he plays alot more poker than pool, so he may or may not be in stroke.

IMO, he is smart, moves well, shoots well, and banks well. I like his game and I dont see alot of weakness anywhere in his game..

IF he wasnt from Chicago, I would like him more.

LOL

Shane will be at Derby and we will give Scott some action in 1pkt races to 6 for 5k.

Scott said the last three years you were suppose to stake Shane and u backed out!??? They even made a table especially for them to play on! Scott said oh sure now that he hasn't been playing and he's almost 80yrs old you poke you little nose out... Hmmm? Scotts not sure if u deserve the action

I never talked to anyone or posted anything that I would stake SVB against Scott previously. I did offer to go in with Shane to play last year and SVB decided not to play.

I have always stood by my offers if Scott wants to play this year he has a game.
