Scott Frost's opinion about Predator tables

Resale value of Diamonds now is better than gold.
My 9 foot diamonds just sold for 9k and they are 8 years old.
I bought them used, with lights in a couple purchases 6 years ago for 4000 to 5500.

Diamond had not changed the exterior appearance much, which holds resale value.

I saw the new brown prc table at Super Billiards Expo...very nice. Gave it a kinda upscale appearance in the right setting.
Selectively targeting high value equity for trade is just smart business.

At the end of the day we all want pool to be bigger and better but Pred still has a business to run.

I expect all this competition to lead to even better products.

The real reason there is a market for more tables sakes, is Diamond's backlog and difficulty of shipping tables out. That was worsened by the pandemic.

Used Diamond's selling for 9k. Because they are the standard and rightfully so.
I have one for sale for 9k!

Rebuilt by the one and only RKC.

Must be picked up in person in BFE. Cash only.

Sure
They are genius in marketing

I play with a predator se11. Awesome playing cue.

If the tables catch up to the cues, they will be a force to recon with.

When you are shooting on a Predator table, wearing Predator glove , using a Predator cue ,aiming at Predator balls you need to remember to chalk with your Predator chalk.

And don't forget racking the Predator balls with a Predator rack...

That’s great if it works for them but I wouldn’t begrudge a company for passing on that risk. Halls, bars, restaurants are high risk lending as most small businesses don’t make it.

I get your loyalty etc but that type of financing isn’t a common thing.

Perhaps Diamond has selective financing or extremely tough criteria because I doubt I could show up tomorrow fresh off the boat and land a dozen or two dozen diamonds fully financed.

I bet it’s a significant down payment to offset the risk.
Different types of financing buddy, I just happen to know which one fits the pool table industry.

OK, I didn't know that or the people working at the pool hall. I'll look there next time. I wonder how many $30 pieces of chalk they'll find when they open the table up.
You can stick a pool cue through the rack storage opening on either end of the table and easily push out the obstruction - most likely a piece or pieces of chalk.

Buy an extra set of rails, you'll be needing them later when the sub rails at the ends get torn up with staples!!

One of the worst designed rails I've ever come across, Gabriel's ain't much better!!!

Mounting hardware is cheap too, threads won't hold up with the bolts being put in and taken out everytime the rails get recovered.

But hey, as long as the table looks good, right

And resale value
Dumb question?

Why are there only metal and wood frames to staple into or bolt into?

Seems like Dymond wood frames would be a better solution . Anyone ever make one like that?

Even if you used strips of dymond wood epoxed on.

Might be too hard and difficult to staple into?

You want a softer wood for stapling to. A lot of manufacturers use poplar sub rails for this reason. Harder woods don't release the staples too well, and they end up breaking when trying to remove them.

Why use staples at all?

Could use a scroll method. Crank cloth tightly and lock it.

A couple slits on the corner and can scroll north south and east/ west....

Food for thought

Pocket curves would be only section with staples.

Know what. You wanna be a gatekeeper for what? The secret underground world of pool table financing?

Congratulations on being the inside guy for the Slate Mafia Cabal.
Now there you go getting all butt hurt because I won't answer your questions about financing Diamond pool tables, that ok, because when it comes right down to it, you're just butt hurt because you're not getting your way, oh well, grow up, not everything involves you!!

Stapling the cloth to the rails isn't the problem. The problems start when the rails are made out of plywood, (Predator) or have an inch of subrail hanging out past the ends of the rails in which the cloth has to be tucked behind in order to bolt the pocket castings back in place. That design is a disaster to repair later on, and there's only a few of us in the field that would even know how to make the repairs, only to have the damage happen again, over and over.

😂 butthurt? I don’t care one bit about financing.

I get your lore. You’ve somehow, despite the lunacy, created a following rooted in your ego. That must persist even with rudimentary questions.

There’s absolutely a market for you to charge 1.2 million to set up a table so perfectly that only a fart can squeeze by your tolerances.

It’s art right? You’re art.

Or it’s just a table and some play differently than others.

Only a sphincter can tell.
