Scott Smith Got a Roll

richard krotcha deserves the headline for saving them
hope his good deed gets rewarded in some way (not necessarily money )
ie. your karma comes back

That guy literally saved both their lives. I'm happy that Scott and his GF made it out okay. One of the all time best announcers this sport has ever seen. He knew how to fire up an audience.

Scott "The Shot" Smith.. still got some lucky rolls in him!

Seriously, that's a close call right there... damn.

Falling asleep at the wheel...damn.

His ability to sleep got him through many 20 hr days at the US Open. He'd nap in a chair right next to the action and if they needed him for a call-They'd call his name and he 'd stand up from a dead sleep and come over, make the call and go back to napping.

A truck driver who really is "a knight of the road".

Lots of luck involved here...

It’s great they were saved. I didn’t know Scott is 70. I thought he was at least 10 years younger than that

Larry...Scott is EXTREMELY lucky that Richard happened along, just at that moment! Another few minutes and it could have be :thumbup:en too late! I too, hope he gets some recognition from the state or somebody!

Me too. Plenty of people would have stopped. and called for help. I think the number of people who would do what he did is pretty small. I'd like to think I would have helped but until you are in that position it is hard to know what you would actually do. The trucker is a true hero and that is a fact!

The Shot

Glad to hear Scott and his friend are OK thanks to a brave man. Knew Scott and spent some good times with him at the Bank Shot in the 70's and 80's.

Yeah, and plenty of people would just pull out their phones and film
it without doing anything.

Richard The Trucker... sounds like a pool name to me!
Somebody give that man a cue for Xmas.. a true hero, indeed!
Well done, sir... well done.

Glad your ok and safe Scott ,thats not what poolplayers want for a hot seat.
