I'm curious about the perception of AZ people who have waded through the several threads about the Scott vs. Dippy issues. What's your take on these two guys? I don't know either of them personally and have no stake whatsoever in the debate about Scott getting stiffed. But I am curious about the opinions of the AZ community and I'll admit that on occasion I like to "stir the pot" a bit. So cast a vote!

Could argue who is most honest over the long term. Who I would trust in any one deal, . . . . .

We have a pool player on one side that knows all the moves and angles, or has a consultant that does. On the other side we have a poker player who is successful. At the level Dave is playing all players are pretty much equal in poker knowledge so it comes down to moves, misdirection and psychology. Dave isn't much of a pool player by all reports but he certainly isn't a babe in the woods.

One could ask.. 'who is less trustworthy?"
 
I don’t know either of these people except as reported here. What I have read are the opinions and observations of some of the people who support Scott’s position. So I should not have voted in support of Scott as the question was asked.

To be more accurate I have more “trust” in Scott’s position because of the support it receives from Jay and Bill Incardona. These venerable posters have more or less put themselves on the line in support of Scott’s position and that says a lot to me.
 
I'm bummed about this poll because people are going to think that it's about this one situation involving a missing $50,000 when it's not.

Had the poll asked who do you think is lying about the $50,000 then there would be different results.

One of my hypotheses about living your life in the pool world is that it is more like to corrupt your character than enhance it. You, my friend, are a clear and compelling exception to this rule!:grin:

As cynical as this sounds, it has always (by "always," I mean since I was in my early 20s, about 45 years ago) seemed to me that being honest and trustworthy puts you at a disadvantage in the world of money pool. A trustworthy person is, by definition, predictable and is bound by rules that may be ignored by the unscrupulous.

I agree and maybe that's what I should have asked in the poll. Actually, it was probably politically incorrect to even post the poll and I wasn't going to be surprised if the mods pulled it.

I said in the other thread that after reading the 900+ posts, I was doubting DD, but after reading the posts in the poker forum, I don't know who to believe anymore....

I don't trust polls. The answers (really opinions) are more complicated than a just a few one word answers can justify.

Also, this I would say this is a small community here and people have either had personal contact with all the participants, or more importantly, have seen similar incidents happen around them (when they know no one in this scenario).

Most importantly, for sample wise, I would trust nothing less than a 3000 responses sample from any poll. With this small community, I think that would be unrealistic.

Having said all of this, it is good entertainment to watch the results. Kinda like watching a train wreck or superstar athlete jettison his hometown team for Miami!
