Scruggs Fancy Pete.

Pretty cue

I don't offer opinions about Timi's sneakies very often. I am pretty sure Jeff didn't build the cue because he did only 1/2 inch plain joint rings. That is all he knew how to do.
That isn't to say it was built before Jeff.
Nick :)

some pics of the TS logo....

Unfortunately, I don't have any real good pics of all the TS SP's I've had but, here are a few examples of some TS cues that I could find....

the fancy cue's 2000 logo on the ivory buttcap looks similar but, it's really hard to say -- nice looking cue

Nice selection of marquee's
I appears the last one on the bottom right has a longer drop down on the T.

Hoping OTB hears from Tim.

When did Jeff start building them? The reason I ask, is the look of the logo. Did Jeff start building them before or after the logo change? Best of luck in the quest of knowledge Sev.

Still hoping for some clarification.
I would like to move this cue.
I am currently eyeballing my Ridgid chop box and a chipper

You can see that there is a variety of different markings out there. This looks to be something different he experimented with, and maybe only did it once.

If somebody was going to fake a marking, they wouldn't get it wrong.

I would be shocked to find out there is anything wrong with this cue.

My thinking as well.
You go through making a cue with matched weighted shafts and steal a marquee from Scruggs? And screw it up?

Doesnt make sense.

I don't think this is a Scruggs cue at all. It looks like someones attempt to get more money for a fake. Jeff never used even the vertical version of this logo. Not saying that you are not honest but in my opinion whoever you got this cue from was pulling your leg in.

No offense taken.

As I said earlier I picked the cue up from a pool hall owner about 5-6 years ago. He picked it up from a player and had if for at least a decade. I saw it. Made him an offer for it. He needed money and I though I got a good deal. I am hoping I still did.
However it seems like a lot of effort to go through to make a well built cue using the materials that are in it. And then steal Scruggs marquee and screw it up. Just seems a bit off.

I am still hoping for clarification from OTB if Tim gets back to him. I sent OTB a PM and have not heard back from him.

I have not heard from Tim yet...,,,,,,,,,,,I do not believe it is a Scrugg. I haved asked 10 or so very well reped people hear at DCC and all concur, not a Scrugg. Rule one in (most) cases of authentisity.........go with the majority....... Tim has the final say so thou...........OTB

The only way it could be a TS is if it was made before he set up shop in MD. I am not sure he made cues with his logo on them before then, but I do know his logos from that era and this one is not from that time.

Logo

Ive looked very closely at this thread & logo. Id leave the final word to Tim if hes willing to do so but........ No offense, ive seen every logo made and its not theirs imo.

Good luck

Who is this Jeff Wolf that was making the Petes? Anybody know how to get ahold of him?

Would he have any info for clarification?

I assume we can rule out NASCAR driver #14 Tony Stewart.

You nailed it.

Sev - you should have just posted this cue for sale and sold it. It's a great-looking cue, and I'll bet a quarter it ends up being verified as a Scruggs.

Wish I could hit a ball with it - I could tell you in 5 seconds.

Congrats to Bamacues on posting a pic that no other pic has ever made me so jealous... :)

Nice sneaky disregarding if it's a Scruggs or not.

That can be arranged.
