What most don't realize is Bob Frey made EVERY ONE of those Scruggs Sneaky Petes that so many lust after. He still makes them, just with his logo. Just buy one.
And to be honest, nostalgia aside, the newer ones are better cues.

Jeff W. made them all after Bob Frey left. Just a clarification.
Bob still does make a great cue.

I've had a bunch. If I ever wanted another, I'd probably save myself $400 and just get a late 90's early 2000's Joss sneaky. They play the same.Who here uses one as their main player?
Is there any way to tell which are the ones Bob made? Otherwise, its seems to me very easy to misrepresent another sneaky pete as Bob Frey's work.
my pool mate has an old old Scruggs sneaky and a new Frey sneaky, and I would strongly disagree with those who said Frey is better. it may be the case with the 2 particular cues I tried but the Frey is far inferior with inferior wood.
I really don't know if a sure fire way.
The handle on the older cues may be thicker and sometimes the joint would be a flat faced big pin. I don't think Jeff made many or any like those.
