Secret 1p Break

I have a very good local player that is giving me five hit and a pick. I am going to practice this break and bust him!

Thanks Jesse!

Two questions. Are you winning now or losing? What makes you think he will even play the second game? Either way you will never bust him because he won't allow it. He gives you the spot to keep you coming back because it is profitable, but if anything changes, like you winning, the game will change or end. The suckers never really get it, they are always just one step behind and the player is in control all the time. Do you know any really good players that give up weight on a regular basis and lose?

It is called "Lamb killing". Playing weak players with weight rather then tough even matches with equal players. They are much easier games to play and the player giving the weight is always in command of the game.

Jesse,

Interesting break! Are you hitting the rack between the first and second balls or are you hitting the second ball dead on? Using spin?

What some aren't getting here is that it's great to have lots of shots in your arsenal. You might never use them on a regular basis, but sometimes you need some creative ideas. I've been stuck from time to time where I had to hit the ball off the tit or take some ridiculous kick to be able to do anything. Doesn't mean I'd normally use that selection, just gave me another option. It's good when that time comes to at least have something to fall back on that just might work.

I used to shoot competitive shotgun. The woman's world champ lived here in Phoenix, and we'd try to get her to come to the club on Friday nights to shoot in a gambling game we shot at night under the field lights. Her coach wouldn't hear of it, as night shooting tends to make you mislead the clay target. He said it would ruin her skills and that wasn't the way he wanted her to train.

Guess what? My brother and I went to the Nationals where she tied with another woman for first place. They held a shootoff to determine the winner and it was held at night under the field lights! She didn't have a clue what to do and got beaten to death by her opponent!

Her coach was right in the fact that she shouldn't use night shooting as her sole training routine, but I guarantee she came back a little wiser about it, and has hopefully added it to her bag of tricks...

Thanks for the thread, Jesse!

Just to clarify a few things:

Five hit and a pick means I get every break and after the break I pull off five balls and put them in my hole. So now he needs eight and I only need three if I don't foul anymore (I always seem to find a way to foul).

He is a good friend of mine so we play race to four for a dinner at Beni Hana's.

We played this once before and ended up even at 3:30am, I think we played four sets. Most of the sets went hill / hill. He is a very good player and I am terrible so it is a pretty even game. We both think we are stealing at the game and tell each other every chance we get!

He reads this forum and has probably already seen my post and the video and is sure that I can't pull it off! The good thing is I can't sell out any balls because I pull so many off the table.

My normal break is horrible and I scratch about 1 in five and he is always able to easily get out of the break.

I will let everyone know how it works out later! The funny thing is I was doing something like this before but not worrying about controlling the cue ball. Since I was scratching so much I started hitting the 2nd ball full and harder and all of the damn balls were going to his hole! So about half way through the 2nd set I started breaking from the other side and more balls were going toward my pocket. I made about three balls in my pocket and won each of those games easily (only needed two more balls). I will now try your break and control the cue and I think the results will be much better.

When it came to moving I lost every game, I did make some great banks to pull off some of the games though.

Thanks for the clarification. James Walden came to Denver and gave a room owner 3 hits (meaning he can break the balls 3 times if he doesn't like the 1st two) and a spot like 11-3 or 4. Sorry if I misunderstood your post. I look forward to hearing your results.

If Jesse gambles, unless he is playing a total scrub, he will end up broke.

I have heard this dumbass statement before, and I made an offer and noone took it (surprise). I will back Jesse against you, or ANYONE you can come up with in the Pac NW in one hole for $1000/set.

Hey, can I get in on this action? I stink, but know a few good players, not even really known outside of their area. I promise, no champions. Jesse has to break every game like his video, and my horse will break any way they choose.

I never said anything about this break. Nice try

There is always one in every group.

Lets see.
Even Jesse agrees with me that it isn't going to work against a strong player.
LOL.
And you obviously failed to read earlier that i will not be playing anyone in any challenge.

But if you are that desperate for action. So much so, that you post in this thread as well as sending me a PM,
Why don't you fly across the country to the Atlantic Northeast with Jesse in tow, and widely publicize your offer.
Condition being that Jesse MUST break the way depicted in the video.

I'm sure that you will have more than enough people lining up to bust you.

I guess apparently, you don't have the capacity to understand what this thread is actually about, and the context of my comments.

YET DESPITE ALL THAT, YOU ARE BARKING FOR ACTION!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

All you said was, "If Jesse gambles......he will end up broke" never a word about, if he gambles using this break. So are you saying that maybe he could gamble, as long as he DOESN"T use this break, or what?

I am trying to read between the lines here, but you aren't helping.

OH....MY....GOD!!!!

Seriously dude?????
What is this thread about? Did you even watch the video?
Did you even read all of the comments?

Jesse never takes a shot. All he does is break.
Every comment is MADE in regards to the break.
Everyone in the thread understands this.
But, apparently, that's too hard for you to understand.

Maybe, next time, before you go shooting off your mouth about what you think dumbass comment are in the thread and in the pm you sent me, you might actually try and understand what everyone is talking about so you yourself don't look like a dumbass.

Yes, I watched the video.

Yes I read every comment.

Your comment in your post said nothing about this break. I guess we were all supposed to assume this.

A few people before have said that Jesse couldn't gamble, period. I suspected you to be another hater. If not, my apologies. Don't have a shit fit about it.

When I was a teenager I had never seen a real game of one pocket played. 9 Ball, 8 Ball and a little staight pool was all that was ever played in the pool rooms around my area. So I bought a rule book and came up on the game one pocket. So a friend and I decided it would be fun. I broke and ran the first rack I ever played. I did this fairly often until, someone showed me that it was supposed to be a safety game with the soft break.

Thanks Steve. I'm hitting the second ball full and drawing with low left. I completely agree with you that we need "specialty" shots for rare occasions, besides them being needed they are really fun to practice.
