senior players?

I am 67 I think I still play well. The problem with tournaments is the wait time between matches. That is what wears me out.

I'm 55 and what was the original question again? :grin-square:

And hell yes, the seniors division at SBE is tough action.

The BCAPL has men senior at 55+ and super senior at 65+.
These divisions grow every year and the action is tough!

We do try to limit the daily hours of play because we can get complaints if the day is too long.

The women senior starts at 50 years old.

I personally believe these ages are all too low! but the senior fields get larger every year. I 'think' we have around 300 in the senior men division.

I believe that when a person gets to 70+ years he should be allowed to play in the seniors division while he can still make a couple of balls in a row. What say you Mark?

I like too play in tournaments, either 14.1 or 8 ball. I don't care for 9 ball and I wont play in a tournament whch holds a calcutta. Way too time consuming.

I also play in Iowa although i didnt last year . One of the things players have aloud to happen is horrible lighting. Just because we are on bar tables we still deserve good lights. 40&60 WATT BULBS IS******.Gambling all night is one thing but playing tournament pool at 2-3am getting up and having to play at 9amtill the evening when you play on the natch is bull****. Old guys can play just look at guys like seco vanni from mn. FRANK THE BARBER, BOB VANOVER JAY H. WOOPS SORRY jay.

I second that about the lights!

I don't know if you were in Tama this weekend but the lighting in the main room was just the high ceiling lights. It was hard for me to see (I'll be 59 this year). On some of the long shots I was guessing.

They had 4 of the tables in a smaller room where the ceiling lights were much closer to the tables. I shot very well in that room. It struck me later that it was probably the lights that made the difference.

My league captain carrys 3 extra light bulbs in his truck and we sometimes swap out the lower watt bulbs. But without any actual table light at all, that doesn't work, of course.

I think 50 is a little young to be a senior. Heck, I was still jogging three miles when I was that age. I'm ok with 55, but I think the ideal is 60. Super senior should be 70.

If you see an old, fat, bald guy down there this week say hello...oh, wait, that describes bunches of people there. Anyway, I'll be at the Diamond booth on and off. Drop by and say hello.

Bob
