AZers! share some thoughts, what diameter do you prefer for your shaft?and tip do you use?soft, medium or hard?thanks.:)

Who knows!

I just had my OB shaft turned down to just under 12.5. I have an OB-2 think it is two small. Just trying Kamui Black medium on both wow.:)

i got a 13mm shaft turn into 12mm with moori medium, imo its not that good, when im gonna draw my cue i find it difficult,i think its the diameter of my shaft, its so thin or maybe wrong combination with moori med.im thinking to try soft tip one not sure what brand of tip i will gonna use.:embarrassed2:

depending on how you had it turned down the shaft might be buckling when you try to juice the ball up

All of my shafts are 13mm with kamui med. Draws so well I fell like an artist.

12.7-12.9mm

Had a couple with REAL thin diameter shafts that I did well with (12.2-12.4mm)...but I could feel how thin they were each time I used it. Too much of a distraction...and my game has enough problems already. :grin-square:

I have cues ranging from 11mm to 14mm

my favorite is 12.6 with a triangle tip...

I know odd number but that was the dimension and I liked it more than anything else.

I currently play with 12mm but that is a recent development and I'm still getting used to it but like it very much also.

triangle tips are all I use

i don't think i'd be able to make a ball with a 12mm shaft. you must have pretty good fundamentals!

I play with a McDermott I-3 shaft which is 11.75mm and a Moori Soft tip. The small diameter gives me a sense of geometric precision when I hit the cue ball.

Im having a cue made (if it ever actually gets finished) with one of the shafts being an I3, I cant wait to test it out.

I was playing with an 11.5 z2 for about a yeah then switched to a straight maple shaft at 12.6, what a difference between the two. Oddly enough I like them both about the same.

I also have an I-2 with a 12.75mm diameter and a Moori Soft tip. As you, I like both the I-2 and the I-3. I play a lot more with the I-3. Can't beat the McDermott warranty on the I series shafts. I recently sent 3 shafts in for new Moori tips, cleaning, and re-seal. I only had to pay the postage and handling fee of $21.95 for all three. That's about $7/each. Their svc mgr Jayme is great to work with.
