Shane vs. Alex day two updates.

Alex breaks and makes a ball

He has a shot at the one.

Alex gets to the four but may elect to play safe, he tries to play safe but makes the four straight into the pocket and hooks himself right on the seven.

Alex hits the ball and slops in the nine with shape on the five.

Alex takes advantage of his luck and finishes the rack to get four games ahead.

65-61.

Alex breaks and makes two balls.

Alex nudges the seven right in front of the ten and draws back for teh seven ten combo to get up 66-61, largest spread all day. five games.

he has an open shot on the one.

Alex got on top of the nine ball with four balls on the table and rattles the six in the corner.

Shane Digs himself out of a mess and runs it to get within four games.

Shane breaks in one ball

The one is in the pocket and Shane comes up short trying to get on the two in the side. There's a blocker ball for the corner and Shane is trying to carom it in off the three.

He successfully bank caroms the two in the corner off the three with shape off on the three.

He pulls the run out and gets to within three games.

Shane breaks in one ball

Shane leaves himself a tough cut on the three and cinches it like a hot knife cutting through butter.

Shane breaks and runs a second rack to bring it within 2.

64-66.

The seven gets in the way and Shane pushes out.

Shane plays a cross bank safe and gets the CB on the eight.

Alex hits the ball but leaves an open shot on the one for Shane.

Shane runs it out to get within one game.

65-66

Has a cut on the one in the corner.

If Shane played the whole set like this, he would be up 25 racks.

Shane overshoots shape on the three, rattles the three and puts the ten right in front of the three. Alex makes the combo to get two games up.

He can see the one and he tries to safe Shane but leaves an edge of the one available.

Shane attempts to safe Alex and leaves the cb on the head rail and the one ball up table, it's cuttable but very tough.

Shane safeties Alex by putting the CB down table and the one behind the ten.

Alex thinks he can see the edge of the one and goes for it but misses. Shane has BIH.

Shane tries to play safe after going a little far and hiding half of the three ball behind the ten.

He successfully leaves the three up table and brings the CB all the way down table but Alex can see the three.

Alex banks the three full table up into the corner.

Alex rattles the four and almost makes the seven too but misses them both.

Shane has an open table.

Shane gets out to get within one game again.

He has an open shot on the one but he may bump the five.

Shane tries to stroke the four to get back for the five being a little too straight on the four and rattles it out. He gets a little fortunate and ties up the five.

Shane one rail kicks the five and leaves a tough five ten combo. Alex rattles the ten and leaves Shane up table. Shane caroms in the ten off the five and gets to the hill for the night 69-67

Alex tries to cut the one but misses it.

Shane plays a safety on Alex and Alex hits the one and leaves no shot.

Shane plays a great safe.

Alex masse's and goes one rail to make a brilliant kick safe on the one.

Shane has an edge of the one and gives Alex a safe.

Alex goes three rails and hits the one.

Shane plays another safe on Alex.

Alex hits it and almost makes a four that was wired off the two with underside throw.

Shane plays another safe.

Shane misses the three and lets Alex back to the table.

Alex runs to the nine and rattles it trying to draw back for the ten.

Shane gets perfect shape and takes the second night 70-67

Alex makes the three and it looks like he should get out from here.

wow, he got a little striaght on the eight but managed to roll forward for the nine in the side, but overshoots shape on the ten.

He makes an 80 degree cut into the corner on the ten to bring it within one game.

This ball bouncing shows Shane is displacing his energy in the Wrong direction, he even mentioned in his interview about Alex's attitude being his strength. Hummmmmmmm, not a good sign, misplaced energy.
Thx again for the blow by blow, if Shane can delete this type of mental embattlement to himself, it could turn the tables on Alex and make him change his game. There's always a way to turn this aspect of play around, sometimes it's you, other times its your opponent, it may ultimately come down to conditioning and the affect it has on the players attitude when worn out to determine the win. The table seems to be holding its own, wonder how the stats compare to the first day,will be an interesting comparison. Also, wonder how Billy I.back, is it holding up in the chair.

Thanks for the updates, For the second night in a row I just couldn't stay awake long enough to see the end. I'm missing some of the better pool at the end too. should be a great last day. Looking forward to sweating some of it. Great show TAR.
