Shane vs. Fedor

Shane wins 120-116.

Undisputed Long 10Ball Race Champion
No one else in is the conversation.

In fact, Shane has appeared in most of the 10-ball races to 100+ ever played. For me, personally, I have never watched a race that was longer than a race to 25.

Congrats to Shane. Although I didn't see any of it, I'll say well played.

Yeah, the last 15 games were exciting but I can't imagine watching 230+ games.

i watched the last 40 and that's about what i can fade. now this was extraordinarily exciting with the svb comeback and the tight contest but most long races are extraordinarily mundane and samey. one pocket i can watch a race to 40 without problem.

I watched it all last night while having dinner out with my wife, watching TV with my wife, and finally reading a book between shots until it finished. First two days, I watch the last hour or so of the replay the next morning.

I get the long races aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I hope everyone can appreciate our great game and the variety it contains. In every other sport that I can think of, there are crazy hypotheticals that everyone argues about but they never get to see them come to fruition. We get to bark about ours, get directly involved in them if we are so inclined, and watch them take place in real time.

Pool fans have it pretty good.

These types of matches are essentially a glorified exhibition or a marketing exercise designed to build hype/sell PPV. They’re not betting their own money and they get paid regardless of what happens so there is nothing on the line for either of them. Maybe bragging rights but I doubt they care too much about that as you can’t pay the rent or buy fancy Louis Vuitton belts with bragging rights.
Actually a lot of these matches are for real money. Yes the players are getting appearance fees but they win a lot more if they win. Svb in particular cares very very much about winning.

One of the promoters in particular is "rumored" to put on matches where the claimed amount being played for is fictional and that promoter books action on both players so you can draw your own conclusion as to how that looks.

As long as a match is not put on by that promoter I tend to feel that the money is real and that both players are trying their best to win.

And no I will not state which promoter I am talking about. Pretty sure it wouldn't take much to figure out which one it is. Think Dr. pimple popper.....

Shane, old, blind and decrepit playing the best in the world, in his prime. :sneaky: He has balls.
That "old" guy is in the top five strongest players on earth. There is no long line of players trying to play him long races for big money.

On top of that he has one of the strongest backers alive. If someone wants to play Shane for a million dollars Shane could probably get backed in that match.

I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who supported and followed my match against Shane Van Boening. It was a hard-fought battle, and despite my efforts, Shane emerged victorious with a final score of 120-116.

A special thanks to Kyle Ferguson and the Railyard Billiards & Sports Pub crew for hosting a fantastic event. Your dedication to pool and hospitality were greatly appreciated.

I’d also like to thank Jason Sword and Scott Frost for their insightful commentary throughout the match, providing valuable perspectives for viewers. Steven Wyatt, for behind-the-scenes assistance in ensuring everything ran smoothly.

To all my supporters, both near and far, your encouragement means a lot to me. It’s what drives me to keep improving in this sport.

And to the fans who traveled from different states and countries to attend, your presence made the event even more special.

Lastly, I acknowledge that while I may have spoken confidently before the match, Shane’s skill and endurance impressed me. I look forward to the possibility of a rematch in the future. Let’s double the bet and find dates that will work for both of us.

Called it!

Sign of the times here that Shane has to say this, for many would have assumed it's an exhibition regardless of the money indicated.

Shane knows that these days, many of the posted "high money" matches are ones in which the advertised money has little, if anything to do with what the players have at stake.

Let's hope this is on the level.
I saw the cool pic of you w Mika and Hydred. Was that big shit eatin grin on your face bcuz she grabbed your ass?? 🤣

Really? Wins by 4 games in a race to 120 and Fedor isn't in the conversation? If they went another 10 games(130) Fedor may have won by 10.

It's easier to understand than my question, apparently.

I'll try again...

Who has beat SVB in a long race of 10 Ball?
