shane vs mika

BINGO !!! On any given day, the 112th best player in the world can "beat the pants" off of the #1 player in a tournament format. This is why pool has to be one of the toughest sports in the world to try and decide just who IS the best player in the world. Hell, in tournament formats, I've seen no-named players take down former U.S. Open champs. And you can't really go on money winnings, 'cause they don't all go to the same tournaments (because of money/travelling issues and invites).

Like bartram said: a lot of good players its hard to win all the time.

Maniac

true
i even beat mika in a tourney

I have my idea why Mika has not been doing as well in tournaments as he had been. Too much gym, not enough pool. The way he has built himself up has to mess with his muscle memory. The cue has to feel different to him. He's still one of the greatest players in the world. JMO. Johnnyt

In May, Mika told me he has cut back on the gym quite a bit and hes "out of shape". That at least was his excuse losing to a fat kid in a pushup hustle.

As far as I'm concerned, 36 clap push up in perfect form certainly qualifies as "in shape".

As for Mika doing poorly this year, I must agree. However the majority of the years events happen late in the year, so he certainly has potential to make amends in the coming months.

No i was saying ive seen money play in the tournament room. but you never answered my question. Why dont they play 9 ball for money?

dont know 10 ball ant no superior game over 9ball everone plays it because the balls stay bunched up after the break that way no one gonna run many racks at a time ,ja will play 9ball for the money.

Clearly you didn't watch the Shane vs Mika match then. Shane's break actually spread better than most players 9 ball break. Most of his packages included 7 or 8 ball outs that were just poke-ins. Even Mika's break spread pretty good if he could just drop a ball more often. Definitely isn't the bunched up mess you're saying it is for most of these great players.

Umm... poolpimp13's post was from back in August... the match didn't happen until a few days ago.
