Shane's mom needs the value of cues

I'd rather have a big dog or 2 laying around those cues than an insurance policy, the dogs ain't gonna screw you over and make you sorry you got 'em!

These cues are irreplaceable... The purple meucci was Shane's first cue, he was about 8... I think. He got the "Shane" Joss when he was about 12. The Josswest, I got when I was 16 and I won lots of State Tournaments and the Nationals with the Joss and the Shon. Shane stole both of those from me when he started playing in the world tournaments. He ended up winning the most with the Shon and his "Shane" Joss. The Palmer was my mothers when I was a teenager and she died 25 years ago. Shane brought all the cues home after he signed up with Cuetec

You can be very proud of what your son has accomplished. Many years ago he asked me if I thought he could be one of the best players if he kept working on his game. I told him there was always room at the top if you play good enough.
A few years later he was asking me how to invest all his money.

Hi SD Mom

Great job on raising a decent human being with a great work ethic who is also a true world class pool player.

I have to ask, shouldn't there be a Diveney cue in those pics, or is it "missing in action"?

What cue was he shooting with at the State tournament when he was six? A borrowed one?

BAKED PORK CHOPS! Every time he's in town. When he misses a holiday I have to make Prime Rib and then I have to make it again for the holiday... that's a lot of prime rib.

If you invite me to dinner I'll show Shane some things on the pool table that will improve his game. :)

What about side dishes? He looks like a mac and cheese kinda guy.

I dont think insurance would be worth the cost. Imo, a better investment would be an appropriate long term storage container, held in a secure location.

If you must insure them, they really need a specialty policy.

Do yourself a favor and contact either Jamie at newcues4you or Bill at Cornerstone custom cues. They are very big cue dealers with well established businesses. I don't think an insurance company would have any issue with something in writing from either.

This is like having a conversation with Tom Brady or Tiger Wood's mom...very cool.:D I hope Shane, you, and the rest of his support system that I'm sure has sacrificed much, realize how much he is respected and appreciated for being the standard bearer for American pool for the last decade or so. I have been fortunate enough to see in person Michael Jordan dunk a ball, Tiger Woods tee off at Augusta, and SVB play at Derby City...I hope he has many years of dominance yet!

I know right!! I had to ask... and she answered back!! I was hoping for the recipe for the SVB pork chops!! How cool would that be? Or what if there was a cook book with various pro's favorite recipes. Kinda cool.

:)

Which is why insurance isnt something you'd want to have to pay for. Really, those are beyond value. You will need to come to an agreed value for the policy and as they are irreplaceable, it will be high...and so will the premium, as they are high scam risk.

So let's say you purchase a policy and the cues go missing? So you get 20-50k. You are still out the cues, and if you have $ to burn for a policy, that isnt a lot of $.

Physical protection is the better call, imo.

since you want it for insurance purposes
i would use an established cue seller business to give you an "official" appraisal
i e a business with a website

i didnt want to mention anyone in case i left someone out
but
timi
for insurance purposes you need a letter from a company like this
fwiw
you can sometimes get a rider to your home owner insurance for "collectibles"
for a maximum amount
the cues should be under that umbrella
check with your insurance company first
you still would need pics and an appraisal of the cues
fwiw again
i dont think if you copy and paste a value from one of the posters in your thread
your insurance company will accept it
no dis on my fellow azb members
the insurance companies dont know how smart you all are ...:)
