Sharks episode 12

Nice to see my old buddy Sean (Alaska) Morgan getting a little more screen time.

BTW when he was in Alaska (with long hair) we called him Indian Sean.

He was always a good guy.

Your doing good - congratulations.

Mark Griffin

This is getting much better. The movie is starting to take a definite direction.

I'm a little on the def side.
Toward the end when Jen's friend came over and they were going shopping. Jen went to get her bag, her friend made a call
from her cell. I totally missed that part of the conversation she had. I just couldn't pick it out.

Could someone tell me what she said, I'd appreciate it.

"Janet, are you sure that no one knows about me and the cop? Don't tell anyone. Please make sure. Thanks."

Getting Better

Jim, the episodes are improving greatly. Everyone is doing well and showing more development in their characters. The scene where Jennifer was on the phone and she was framed at a wide shot, caused a little loss of sound quality. I know the ceiling is low and the boom mike couldn't be employed at that distance without it showing. Perhaps framing a little closer the next time she is in the apartment and on the phone might help, and give us a little more intimate feel.

I really liked the cutaways to the "observer" and the various changes in Jennifer's clothing and positions. It gives a realistic perspective for the viewers and an intensity to the scene. Great Work,Keep It Up.

who just received notification that the movie I worked in last year, East Stackton, will get some rep at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend. I played the creepy motel manager! One day, I'm doing a Sharks episode!!

Actually this phone call was the only real mistake in it that I couldn't help. I didn't have time to get an overdub. I felt that it was a necessary part of the story but it was so noisy that I almost cut it out. The fact is that I didn't have a boom or lav on her because I shot it on a day when I wasn't shooting sound. I was going to dub it. So I have this piece of the puzzle with the loudest noise behind the voice. So I put it through the software so many times that you can hardly hear what she is saying, but it brought down the background noise about 70% so you can imagine how loud it was. Since the reality of this situation would be a camera mike and would have a lot of noise and echo, I decided that the content was worth more than the mistake and I left it in. I'll try not to make this kind of mistake again.

Ha, I actually thought this was intentional... I was thinking the stalker was using one of those spy microphones that look like little satellites (I remember them from the A-Team all the time when I was a kid, lol) and that we were listening to the sound as he heard it. So the whole time this was happening, I expected the scene to switch to showing the stalker's spy mic.

Thanks Viper. I couldn't pick it out. Now that is an interesting development that will rear its ugly face in future episodes. A little two timing on the side.

If you haven't watched the prior episodes, Janet is the bartender that saw Kelsey walk to the bar and talk to Anne's cop boyfriend.

To a point it was, as I left the audio from the camera when Kelsey (Borana) was talking to Janet. But, since I never intended to use the audio from that call, it was much noisier than I wanted it to be, but the feel was there because the audio from those cameras isn't very good as lusedtoberich has pointed out.

Thanks,

Thank You Mr.Griffin - That was 12 years ago already moving from Alaska to NYC. Now I'm more known as Alaska! Appreciate it all!

Sean "Alaska" Morgan

Yoda like Moment...

Loved it when Alaska said "I'll teach you when you prove to me your ready". Kind of like Mr. Mayagi - "Karate for defense only". Cant wait to see how this plays out. Keep up the good work Jim - love your character Jennifer. I hope you get noticed by SAG and get some work in the movie industry!

a few people knew him

Jim,

I only met him in passing. He was in the Janscos Jamboree a few times I believe.

Jerry

There are a few old guys from New York who are still around who knew him. And probably two or three who were really young when he was here. One guy was really wierded out cause he said that I look like him. He died in 1974. He was 64.

Thanks,
Jim

Episode 12

Good episode I like where this is going! Keep up the great work.

13 a few days late

I've been trying to keep up a 2 week gap between episodes, but there were some scheduling problems and I have been set back a few days. Some martial arts in the one coming up.

Thanks,
Jim
