Shaw gets 10G's from OB.....................

IMO Jayson's run will culminate in the most success$$
anybody breaking his record will be getting handshakes and praise on this forum as a reward

this record will be either too hard to break, or too easy

ironically the earning potential associated with this achievement would not have been possible were it not for the attention John brought to the record and of course his subsequent blunders

May sound silly but he needs to check on the tax laws. He may owe state income tax in the state where he received the payment. Pro golfers run into this when they win money in states with state income taxes. You could even end up owing taxes in two states, where you live and the state where you earned the money. He does need to look into this if he has not already. I am sure there is a tax expert on here who knows the answers.

Not sure on if he would get charged or which state but if it's different than his home state he would pay the highest tax of either state. If home state is 6% and other state is 8%, he will have to pay 8% to the other state and then get a credit on his home state return for that payment. If home state is 8% and other state is 6% he would pay the 6% to the other state and then the remaining 2% to his home state - either way - he would pay a total of 8%.

Is that Jeremy Jones’ signature on the check? Is it a different Jeremy Jones?

As a geezer I remember hearing and reading for decades how anyone talented enough to break Willie's record would be showered with fortune and fame. Ah, pool, a life sleeping under tables, living in your car or hitting the highlife in a Motel 6.

Meantime top football players are making a million a game.
champion.
My point was, he was handed a big check in a state with 3.23 state tax. Receiving the money in a different way could make a difference and save him a few bucks, you never know.
My accountant was at the house this morning. He knew i was not about to go in some office building. That's why this came to mind. I don't pay a nickel more then I have to, I'd like to pay nothing if I could.
Yeah, Shaw is just a dumb pool player that DON'T the US 1 billiards & Bar pool room in Connecticut, Nope, he wouldn't know a thing about those taxes, thank God the AZB members are looking out for his best interests😉

Actually, I would.

I know we live in an age of instant gratification but this just happened a few days ago. There are still i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed and there is plenty of time for the publicity on this to roll out.

It only took you 40 min to respond to me. Then your going to tell me, with a financial interest, you would wait more then a week to respond to a high run like that? Sorry, I dont buy it. It's what? 9 days ago today? That's more then a few.

Bobby and co. went to DCC to relax and have some fun. he's doing some commentary too. i don't think its a big deal, AT ALL. their timetable is really not our business. contact them via FB and ask them direct if you're so damn worried.
