Yep it's going to be fun. One of the best tournaments around with 5000 added between the 3 events.

Great tournament, great weekend! Last tournament, had approx. 160 in nine-ball, several dozen in the one-pocket.

Well I worked 3rd shift this week and was able to attend the Player Auction tonight at Shooters in Olathe..... The womens field drew 24 players and the blind picks were going for over $300, a few players went North of $300 and a few more for more than $200. Then the bulk of the field were $10 and $20 horses.

In the Open Shane McMinn was the overall blind pick for $1100 in this event with 89 players..... 3 or 4 players went for $700 range then it dropped down to $500, then the mid $300's and a quick drop to $100..... Then the bulk of the field went for $10 or $20.

The Calcutta is paying 12 places with 24 percent going to the 1st place spot.

I was waiting for Dustin Gunia to go cheap but he went for $420 a relative deal and then Danny Olson going for $320..... Both players IMO are favorites...

I picked up 3 bargain bin players.. John Turpin for $20 Jacob White for $20 and Manny Perez for $80....

Got $1000 out of the bank this morning and still have just under $900 for the Breeder's Cup in the afternoon... We will see... FYI...

This is supposed to be one of the great tourneys, geez I wish I lived in Loathe, KS. Please post pics and results, best of luck with the tournament!

With 89 players it should run pretty smooth, I cant imagine 160 or whatever the last one was. Not taking anything away from the poolroom because its top notch, probably my favorite one but when you get that many players its tough to keep a tight schedule. When we were there last year there was about 120 and it was almost impossible to keep up with it. One guy with us played a match until early Sunday morning then was expected to be back in a few hours to continue, at 60+ years old. Had all intentions of making it to this until last minute bs came up, hopefully make it next time. Dan and all the people there are a great group. On a side not, the way the calcutta was run was pretty good imo, different than most places but taking wild bids until you cant get $100 I think it is makes it interesting.

If you bought Shane McMinn in the Calcutta for $1100 ???

1st $2300 range
2nd close to $1600
3rd more than $1100

Tourny paid
$1900 for $65 best bargain.

Now back to $1100 for a player in a auction where they win you get a couple more bucks than you would have if you flipped a coin..

Nahhh
buying gold coins has a better return.

Wow

So far, as of 9:00PM

Thanks Deb.... makes planning for the 2nd Calcutta at 3 p.m. a tad bit easier.

If that is possible.?????

Mucho Macho Man won the Breeder's Cup Classic today, which makes my bankroll a tad bit more than last night...
