I truly hope that he has been banned instead of just going in and changing it to say banned himself...

I just went back and checked again. I messed up on the minutes. It wasn't 7:35 but was indeed 7:25. So, I have cowboys post at 6:32 P.M. ChrisC's last time logged in at 7:25 P.M. and your last post here at 8:14 P.M. Your times might be an hour off, but Cowboys post should be earlier than ChrisC's last logged in time. If so, he was on after supposedly being banned.

Not saying that it happened here, but it sounds like a very reasonable thing to do.....a member's password can be changed and all his dealings via PM can be read. This is usually done only after banning a member who is into some sketchy business. I've seen members showing active after being banned (or set on miserable user), when it was actually the admins trying to police the illegal sales the member was trying to carry out. I've seen several folks who were using a discussion forum for networking to sell drugs via PM...who wear caught by reading PMs after banning them. Anytime somebody is doing bad business, it is something that comes up as a possibility.

All I'm saying is we could have stopped him just by spamming his selling or buying threads. Now he'll probably be back scamming others under different names. Newbies that sign up WONT know his real name, etc. and WILL get scammed just because yall wanted his username banned. All he has to do is go to internet cafe's, libraries, and the likes and he's back up and running.
He wasnt THAT dumb if he's scammed as many as he has so far.
How has this ChrisC ripped off so many people and got away with it? Why has nobody pressed charges? Why has he not been arrested? he also stated he was going to be at this last DCC.. Why did nobody catch him there?? Is he a ghost? Does nobody what he looks like? Does nobody on here live close to him? Do the police not give a crap about this guy? I can't understand why he has stole from so many people and never been arrested? Not that he has been banned, You know he will come back under another name. So, when buying or selling to all NEW members, You better watch your a$$.. He may create a new account and not use it for a long time to make it seem like he has been a member for a good amount of time. I dunno.. I just think I'll avoid any members I don't all ready know are good to deal with.

He would NEVER be able to sell/buy anything under the name ChrisC on here again. So he will and/or would have done it (if he can), banned or not.

Atleast under ChrisC we could spam his threads like crazy to warn people. Now we have to wonder when each NEW person sells something on here. He might not be bright enough to get a new IP, but he'll figure something out. A thief cant just quit, he'll find someway to come back and steal like before. You can bet on that.
And Jeff, he doesnt have to know how to change IP's to get back on. He can go to a friends house, etc. and he's back on a different IP. Hell the mods could have put restrictions on his posts like when he posts it wont show up until a moderator approves it (and the posts he post selling or trading they could have not approved it and it wouldnt have showed up). I've been a mod/admin and still on on some internet boards so I know what can and cant be done.
Dont get me wrong I'm not trying in anyway to support this chump, but everyone is better off knowing who your enemy is than trying to figure out when and where he is coming from. I'd take a quick trip to the library to make a quick $300+ bucks off of someone. You honestly think just because he was banned that he'll quit on this board? If so, you might want to think again. He WILL be back in some fashion.
He didnt use a different name before was because he was STILL selling stuff to people under his name. So why change?
Banning him IS the right thing to do. Even if it's just the principal of the thing.
As someone else pointed out, he could just as easily set up a second or third ID for buying/selling whether or not the "ChrisC" ID had been banned or not. So, you have to pay attention to his real name and address, not only his AZ ID.

If some Kentucky fellow azers could provide a photo of chris would help a lot. He plays pool somewhere in Louisville and i am almost 100% certain that someone knows him in person. Be banned is not a solution. Besides we are all adults and we have the ability to cover ourselves. You should be more carefull in the future and as Mr.Wilson stated a while ago, there are means of transaction that can secure us. The guy will certainly come back since under heavy criticism he managed to keep making frauds. That's my humble opinion. Costas

banning him is 100% the right thing to do. if the guy is smart enough to think up all these scams im sure he already has another user name on AZB
