Should Jeanette Lee Forfeit Matches

I have asked the tournament director this specific question yesterday.

He says the dress code is for men only. If there is any more question you may direct your concern to him in person.

Hope this clarify the confussion.... :)

Thanks! Jeanette looks great as usual! What's all the fuss about?

Sounds like those rules are directed more towards men than women. Can you require woman to wear slacks? Against some womens religion to wear pants is it not? :)

Very true DP.... as a matter of fact it is against the law for a woman to wear ANY TYPE of pants/skirts in Smokeandpancakism.......all clothes are forbidden with the "temple" walls on Sundays....

She looks great as usual.... forfeit? huh? there has to be a better way to kill ticket sales.

I ask this question in the Carom Billiard section. But I would like other player opinion. Please read this post

And if you view Caromtv, she presently playing in the semi round.

If you are concerned about the future of 3-cushion billiards, I would think that Jeanette Lee playing the game would generate more interest than anyone else, especially dressed in her typical attractive, sexy, attire. Guys that don't even follow pool, know who Jeanette Lee is. Make her forfiet the match and set 3-cushion back another 50-years. I am even more interested in the game now than I was after watching a Willie Hoppe video

Bottom line... Jeanette Lee's presence at any event puts asses in the seats - that means more exposure for billiards - that is good - so to answer your question with a question... why should she forfeit? I would imagine she'd have to forfeit because she needs more time to sign autographs and pose for pictures with her adoring fans?

 :D

I think you also have to consider what the purpose of that rule is. I would think the purpose is to have people look professional. I don't think she looks unprofessional in that picture. Also, imo, women look ridiculous wearing things like tuxedo vests.

I don't know if your concern is about a double standard for men and women or you just think she doesn't look professional. If it has to do with her "professional" attire, I think your barking up the wrong tree. If it's the double standard - look around it's everywhere.

To add I believe players both men and women follow these dress code in Asia, Europe and in England. In England especially when it Snooker.

BS,
So you are saying that the sport would benefit from women dressing up like men?????? It's hard to see how that would promote the sport.

If promoters want the female players to dress a certain way, they should (and will) specify that.

You seem to be making a mountain out of a mole hill. This tournament is just a memorial event; designed to promote the sport; not part of some "super billiards tour." JL participates in events like this (and the ESPN "grand masters" thing) without remuneration; out of love for the game, desire to promote the game, and out of love and respect for her good friend the late Sang Lee.

The promoters should count themselves lucky that she participates. Her recognizability is HUGE; something the IPT should have considered when it doled out the invitations.

P.S. - Watching women who dress like men makes me a bit uncomfortable.

i cant really see too clearly in the pictures but im sure like most women i know she has at least one other outfit on standby.why not just ask her to change to keep playing?:)
