Should tournaments ban the use of bar-box tables?

Lets face it this is a politically correct world and should tournaments ban the use of what is now a baby/obsolete table?

I can see players protesting to directors because they don't want to be play another player who has played on a bar-box.

If a player is playing on a bar-box, deemed by the laws of some states, than how can we trust him to win a world title?

I really don't care but since this is a hot topic would it be just better to disallow a table the government now deem baby pool.

Bar box titles matter!

Funny thread. I had to go read the ivory thread to get the humor. I hadn't read it yet because I see the word "Ivory" which immediately indicates a fancy cue discussion which I have no interest in.

In a perfect World we would all be playing on a 10 ft table.

Bar Boxes have their place in our sport.

I guess they have to be banned simply because those that don't want to play on them are somehow forced to participate in tournaments that do use them.

I had cold brew iced coffee today. Good stuff.

I Be been cold brewing my own for six months now. I'll never go back to drinking hot coffee. My kuerig is gathering dust. Smooth as silk and chock full of caffeine.

What if I told the TD that I suspected my opponent got his pool skills from playing on a BB, would he be banned from the tourney? I think he should, skills gained on a BB directly lead to the sensless slaughter of 9 and 10' tables. Don't you people have Souls?

I am not sure if this is a real discussion or a tongue-in-cheek thread related to the preposterous idea of banning people from tournaments for having Ivory in cues.:confused::confused::confused:
Just in case it is a real thread I have the same advice as I did in the Ivory cue thread, if you dont like barbox tournaments stay home, problem solved. I dont like watching baseball and basketball but I dont ask that those sports be banned, I just do not waste my time watching them. If people try talking to me about either of our local teams my reply is always the same, the Brewers can leave town and take the Bucks with them!!!!

What method do you use? I got a kit that I put one pound of coffee in, fill it up with water, and let it sit overnight. It takes about 20 minutes to drain out through the filter the next day, and then I have coffee concentrate for a week. I dilute it somewhere between 2-1 and 5-1 water to coffee concentrate. My wife drinks it with milk; I take it black. Then I go play some bar box pool. Hope I don't get arrested.

This is a serious discussion.......we are trying to save 9 and 10' tables. Please take your coffee talk elsewhere:grin:

You don't care yet you make a thread concerning it and then make such a strong bias statement as "baby/obsolete table"?

First, lets define a bar box being that it appears people here can't agree on that term.

Second, you 9' elitest (yes I include you in that noun because of your statement) need to admit and accept the fact that both sizes have their challenges and neither of them are easier than the other based on the stats that have been posted here several times.

Third, where in the world did you get obsolete? Being 7' tables are by far the most common in the US, I think your bias got in the way of your intelligence.

Fourth, if the player is so good why would they fear someone on a "baby" table?

What don't you understand about BB's harming big(real) tables? This must stop at once! Anybody supporting BB's should be immediately banned from pool forever!!!

Lets start by banning Barbox pool in California. We can show the world by example and be the leader in preserving the lives of 9 footers.

Or not!

There has to be many times that someone has been thrown onto a bar box during a bar fight. Or many women violated on the same size table.

This would categorize those tables as assault tables, and they need to be registered with a nationwide database to prevent them from being used in additional assaults.

No!!

HOWEVER, bar box tourney results should NOT be in play with regards to seeding/ranking for big table competition

I think it would be better if your opponent would share their $10 piece of chalk, instead of leaving it on the table, then during your turn at the table, with their chalk still on the top rail, telling you you can' use it.

With all the problems the game has with image etc...I don't think we'll see any real growth until we ban pool players from tournaments.
