My titlist conversions

Two were made in 1966 when dots were the thing. The top one is 28 long and fat with cortland wrap. It has a 5/16-18 pin because it was a stand thread. The second one was modified several years ago. Skinnied down and a 5/16-14 pin replacement. The bottom one was completed last year from a one piece that I had for many years.

Titlist Conversion

Here is Tim Scruggs oak Titlist with two ivory-ferruled shafts. This cue is reported to be from a small group of NOS blanks that TS and MC got from Classic Billiards in Baltimore in the late 90's. Dave

Beautiful cue.

Every single oak Titlist that I've seen is from the early 1940's (1st 1-2 years of production, so it's unlikely that one was NOS - in fact, I think they were only made in 1941, maybe 1942. My theory is that Brunswick moved away from light woods during the war years to avoid having to put metal in them.

I love these oak Titlist conversions, and of course, Tim Scruggs made some of the best.

Re the TS oak Titlist, it would be nice to talk to TS about this particular group of conversions as the blanks from Classic Billiards were supposedly new in the Brunswick sleeves. If factual, they could have been sitting there for many years.

This cue may be coming up for sale soon on AZ.

Wow! I love many of the cues posted, I think my favorite is the JMW oak titlist w/the added butterfly in the buttsleeve area, but there are several I would love to hold in my hands.

Here is one I acquired earlier this year made by Woody Woodworth in 2004 from an older Brazilian Rosewood titlist blank. Very nice execution, all white is ivory (solid ivory joint, inlays, hoppe ring & ferrules) - not my pictures but they are excellent:
