Silliest thing you spent money on that is pool related?

Hey all,

Just wanted to start a fun thread. I know golfers are normally the ones associated with spending money on things they don't really need but I am curious what gizmos or even just accessories everyone has bought that they never use.

When I first started playing I bought the most expensive chalk clip I could find.......and was damn proud of that thing. The funny part about it was that I had some master chalk in it (not kamui or even some moderately priced chalk)........and master chalk was already on every table I played on.

Interested to hear some others and curious if anyone bought one of those cues with the laser coming out the end of it.

Cover for my pool table. Made for people that don't use their table much.

Bridge. I just play left-handed. It sits in my cue rack, never used.

Ball rack. My table is tapped and I'm lazy.

Cue case. I never go out because I have a 9 footer at home. If I ever did go out, I'd probably just use a Wallabushka anyway.
 
A couple yrs ago I became a gold member! Found out how "silly" it was and never did it again!

Best money I ever saved;)
 
First cue was a Miller beer cue with a screw on tip for $12.........

One can of Chalk Off spray used once, then into a drawer. The label says it contains extremely harmful chemicals, so I assume I'll need a nuclear waste dump site to properly dispose of it. Not sure if it was ever a good idea to spray a chemical on cloth my bridge hand will be in contact with.

My second cue was a $60 purple Players cue. I got lucky with that one. It actually played great. I wound up selling it to get another cheap cue that looked better. I knew absolutely nothing about cues then and, in my ignorance, ended up buying MANY cues in the $40-$75 range looking for a similar hit. What a waste of money...

Never should've sold that cheap purple Players. Even though I play with a nice cue now, I wish I still had that thing.

I had one like that also. I bought a black cue for $15 at the VNEA tournament in Las Vegas. It was extremely flexible, I could bend the joint area in a circular motion with a 3 or 4 inch radius. It was a good cue for the impossible cut, which I made once by cutting a ball three diamonds to the left with the cue ball at the head spot.

I think I sold it after buying a jump/break cue and did not have room in my case.

Also made for people who have the laundry room right next to the pool table.

I play a lot, but I put the cover on afterwards as the wife and I both end up using it for sorting laundry, which we have a ton of with twin girls.
 
Bunch of cues that I played with a handful of times, and never picked up again. 3 sets of balls (Centennial, Aramith Pro, & Aramith Pro TV). Almost added a 4th set (Cyclop) last year, but the bad reviews on AZ held me back.

I can PM my address to you if you wanna send it to me, I will "dispose" of it properly. :smile: It cant be much worse than the chemicals I use at work daily.:eek:
