The reason I make such crass comparisons is to illustrate the idiocy/misogynism of the other side.

Even the guy who posted the "50 games" nonsense does not believe Shane could spot her that and have ANY chance of winning. But he feels comfortable throwing that number out.

Why? For no other reason than because she has a vagina. In his mind, it is A-OKAY to denigrate her skill. Doesn't seem to be many reasons to do so besides her having a vagina. She, and women around her Fargorate have certainly taken their share of top-ten scalps in open tournaments. Nobody, and I do mean, NOBODY, would dare to say such a thing about any "man" at her Fargorate. In fact, anyone saying something so stupid about, say.. Chris Melling, would get laughed off the board.

I never once said Siming could beat Shane, Alex, Orcollo even in a long race.

I DO think it is incredibly sexist to believe she has no chance against someone who is legitimately at the same Fargorate as herself, in games where the power of the break is not a factor.

And those are exactly the posts I respond extremely sarcastically to. The ones who insinuate that she has no chance against someone at the same Fargorate. Mike has explained multiple times why the Fargorates for women and men are accurate to within a very small number of points, but there are some MEN on here who simply perform mental gymanastics and ignore all of Mike's posts in order to preserve their worldview.

Yes that's far fetched however , take snooker the best woman multiple world Champion lost in the first round of qualifying to a c player Man , Serena Williams I believe said she couldn't beat a top 100 player ,, We saw what happened to Anika trying to play golf with the men and we can forget about any other big sport ,, so its easy to see how people find it hard to believe it can happen in pool even if its by far the easiest of pro sport / games

Then they need to curb their viewpoint to keep it within the bounds of reality.

Saying something like "Shane can spot her 50 games in a race to 100" is pure idiocy.

No I didn’t bet on the match because I quit gambling a long time ago. I also stated earlier in this thread that I didn’t care who won. I watch matches when I can because I like pool. I work at night 6 nights a week so I don’t get to watch a lot of the matches. I’m not trying to make any money regardless of whose playing

When I used to gamble I never ask for odds on anything ever if I bet and lost I paid up. I even made some bets that I knew were going to lose but I paid up just the same.

I can’t speak for the guy who posted that Shane could win by 50 games, but I don’t think he ever mentioned that the reason he felt that way was because she was a woman.

We have to refer to her as she,her because she is a woman but it doesn’t mean that because she is a woman that’s the reason she can’t beat some people. I’m a guy and the reason I can’t beat anyone is because they play the game better than me. I suck it’s that simple and no other reason. I could make excuses like I’m 52 years old and can’t see good anymore work to much. The bottom line is nobody cares other than how I perform when playing them.

Well, there's the thing. She's a fantastic player, which even her detractors admit. And the person who posted that never once offered up any technical REASON for his assertion that Shane could "probably spot her 50 games".

It's doesn't take much imagination, if the person who said that makes absolutely no effort to discuss specific weak points if her game, to assume it is purely because she has a vagina.

Perhaps if I keep using that word, maybe some guys on here will start to realize how rediculous they sound saying stuff like the "50 games" comment.

Maybe I’m doing it wrong. Fargo says they are near even at 50-40. I assume it’s the same for 100-80.

Depends on the game.

Wooden rack, 9 on the spot? Prolly 34 games on the wire would make it close to even.

Magic rack, 1 on the spot? 30 games.

Magic rack, 10 ball? No idea, but my first guess is she needs something slightly north of 35 games, but I would not want to bet on Siming at any spot that Shane felt comfortable giving. He's destroyed much higher rated opponents than Siming playing 10 ball.

In none of these games do I think Shane stands a chance giving up 50 games going to 100.

For the rest of you since Russ won't understand it anyway, the point I was making about the hypothetical 10 ball matchup was that SVB would most likely crush her just based on how many packages he can put together at that specific game as compared to 9 Ball where it would be much closer. Of course he could do this to male pros too and he has. This of course was all apart of my greater point that the top male player has ALL games baked into his rating, while the top female player has mainly just one. Mike Page says this shouldn't really matter but I'm still a bit skeptical. At some point maybe we will be privy to players ratings based on game type and I will be proven wrong and I'll admit as much and go about my day. Meanwhile, Russ will still be yelling out of the back of the short buss that I'm a misogynist.
