Some big names here for the weekend and it will be interesting to see how the format plays out.

Here is the Format/Rules sheet as passed out at the event during the players meeting:

Players will be seeded for the first round using a "reverse seed" meaning the best players will play going down the BCA ranking list. During rounds players will play alternate break 15 game matches. Players will have score sheets and will keep track of games won and break and runs. Players will earn one point for each win plus one point for each break and run. Players will also keep track of games played. Players only mark a game played if they come to the table in that game. These stats will be used to calculate a players PPG (Points Per Game percentage)

Player ranking after the initial round will list as follows:

1. Points Per Game Percentage (PPG)

2. Games Won

3. Break and Runs

4. One game playoff in case of tie

Every round following the first round will be seeded according to the highest PPG or above tie breakers in case of tie. Meaning the two best players will play each other and on down the line. There is one exception to this rule. Players may not play the same players in two consecutive rounds. The players with the highest cumulative PPG will move on to make the cut. After the cut rounds continue the top four players will play match play races to 9 to decide the winner.

TEN BALL IS SPOTTED IF MADE ON THE BREAK

PLAYERS WILL BREAK FROM THE BOX

PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE A JUMP CUE ONLY TWICE DURING A MATCH

Players need to keep up pace of play, slow play will not be tolerated. Slow players may be placed on a 20 second shot clock. Players will have 15 minutes to show up for matches after 15 minutes is up opposing player will have ball in hand after the break every game until opponennt shows up or player finishes match. If player misses during the rack the game is over and he must break again. You have to earn every game. Player will recieve one point every run out and one extra point if the player chooses to break and run without ball in hand. The forfiet player will be DQ'ed from the tournament.

All other rules will follow WPA world 10 ball rules.

End of Rules and format statement.

Should be interesting.

Why am I hosting an open mic tonight? What a first match. I would live to watch JA and CD on a 20 sec shotclock!

charlie bryant vs john schmidt at noon today !

from what i have figured out imo is this.

figure average by dividing points by games played.

opponents break and runs do not figure into games played when doing a players average.

correct me if i am wrong. ty

Is anyone else having problems with the advertisements blocking HALF of the viewing screen?

I don't have a problem with advertising between racks but do we really need to see ads while the rack is in progress?

Nothing is going on right now as far as I know, that is why the ad is taking up half the screen. Look like Putnam is still practicing.. .they have to figure out the scores so they know who is playing who in round 2.

Earl is practicing right now and chatting with some spectators...

He's just setting up stoke shots and firing away. Pretty impressive!

@JCIN, I am unclear and curious about those rules for when an opponent is late (or does not show). Are you saying the resident player gets 1 point for each game he shoots (because it is a win), in addition to 1 point for run out after break, plus 1 more point for B+R without ball in hand after break? So it is possible to get 3 points per rack while an opponent is late or absent? Or does the player only get 1 or 2 points by running out, but none if the player fails to run out?

[EDIT: I suspect 0 points for no run out, right?]

Justin since you have a large crowd of pool players at
your event that have gambled in the South, could
you please show them the picture of Jericho Cooper
that is wanted as a person of interest with the murder
of Mike Surber.

Please and thank you for your help, you have a great audience
out there and maybe one of them have seen Jericho Cooper
somewhere.

thanks

Barb
