Skeletons in our closet

Is that a felony??

You are supposed to transport prescription drugs in the pill bottle that has the prescription information on it. As long as the prescription is actually your prescription, then it's not a felony to put the medicine in another container. It could be a misdemeanor if you were transporting it from one place to another, but if you can prove that the prescription was actuallt legally written to you, your chances of being charged with it are slim to none unless the cops are really pissed at you for something else. It would, in all likelihood, be either dropped by the DA's office or they would decline to prosecute it anyway.

If, on the other hand, you are in posession of Schedule II narcotics and you do not have a prescription for those narcotics, then you could very well be charged with a felony.

I've never heard of anyone being charged with putting their own medications in a dose dispenser case. Typically, they kinds of drugs that would get you in trouble ar enot the kinds of drugs that you would put in one of the "dose planner" containers anyway...they are the type of drugs that are prescribed to be used "As needed", not on a scheduled dosage.

Maybe a trillion different ways to be a bad guy.

You need to make the distinction between felonies and misdemeanors here....

I've got to do some statue of limitation research before I answer this one, but I can mention the time my cousins fired a revolver into their toilet figuring the water would be enough to stop the bullet. Well the water wasn't enough to stop the bullet, nor the floor, nor the ceiling of the apartment below them ... what the hell, they lived in the projects at the foot of Bunker Hill, people expected to have bullets coming through their ceiling.

So, I see there aren't very many posts about our past. I wonder why? Sure, there are the one's about the little crimes that didn't hurt anyone, didn't get caught, kinda childish, and so forth, but where are the stories that you don't want anyone to know about? Oh, I got it, nobody in this forum, except me, has committed a crime and been caught, punished, did their time, and is now willing to tell about it. So, out of the thousands of users in this forum, only 1 of us is an ex-felon. That's fine by me. Now I don't have to worry about talking to an ex-felon because that would be a violation of my parole. Anyone here ever cheated on their spouse? Nah, didn't think so. Cuz I'm sure if you did, you would have shared that with us here in this thread, right? Well, all I have to say is that I've paid my debt to society, as they say, and I am now moving on with my life. But, for those of you that haven't confessed, I don't blame you for not sharing with the rest of us because I wouldn't want everyone to know about my dirty deeds either. Get it? Peace, John.

John, in my case I never spent any jail time...never cheated on my wife (don't have one)...cheated on EVERY damn girlfriend (maybe that's why no wife)...but I damn well COULD have spent jail time a couple of times for the same reasons as you...just didn't get caught or got out of it at the right time.
In my book...as you know...you're on the top rung of the ladder. Screw 'em...

OK, John. I apologize for not being a felon, nor having ever committed a felony....I realize that I have one hell of a lot of unmitigated gall for having a cleaner criminal record than you and not having any felonies to confess....I should have NEVER made you feel inferior by not being a criminal.

Fine...I'm going now to think of some felony to commit so I can confess it and make you feel better about yourself.

This is without a doubt just about the most idiotic thread I've seen or gotten involved in...I can't believe I even responded to it.

Well John, if you must know, I never cheated on my wife. I spent my first 30 days in jail when I was 14. Went to the " Study Home for White Boys " upon release. From there it was the VA. state reform school for another 6 months. Took me 11 months to get back home. I have stolen cars, money, clothes, etc. I came from a very poor family and stole what I wanted. When I was 18 I met Dr. Hunter Adams, aka Patches. The guy Robin Williams played in the movie. He lived in a house in Arlington while doing his internship. That is where I learned about unconditional love. There were about 20 people who lived in that house. When I went over there they would feed me. If they were going somewhere, they took me even tho I was broke. That kinda changed my life. I quit stealing and started dealing. You know the rest of the story. I could of got 40 years for smugling. I am lucky, I never got caught. I can tell ya this because it was 35 years ago. I feel for ya buddy. All ya got to do is start planting them good seeds and it will all come back to ya 10 fold.
Peace, your friend, Purdman ;)

Inferior? You're nuts! I feel fine about myself, it's you that I'm worried about. I could really care less if you've ever committed a crime in your whole life. That's not what this thread is about, Mother Teresa. It's about people like you that walk around all high and mighty and talk shit about others past like they're free game because they have done some things that aren't in your book of saintness, if that's a word. Put me on your ignore list, I don't want to feed your Holy mind with my past and cause you to do something you'd be ashamed of, like pissing w/o lifting the seat first, unless you already squat to make sure you hit the target.

You're confusing the issue. Some of us haven't been caught and don't want to walk up to the nearest police station and pay time on something that happened in the past. (And maybe you have done some things you didn't get caught for and are not 'fessing up to those items your own self.)

And yes, we are all guilty of something(s)- I think everyone's agreed to that. You got caught, convicted, paid your time. So what? You can talk about it now precisely because you paid your time and because it's all public record now, anyway.

And as far as the public record part goes, that's part of the punishment- just like in colonial days when people were put in the stocks or had to wear letters on their chests. The belief was that it deters others and that it reduces recidivism. Foucault further argues that it's a "necessary" public demonstration of the power of the government/king over the citizen that stems from the belief that every crime is disobedience to the government's/king's laws. So if you break a law, you are actually challenging the authority, and the authority has to publicly respond to prove it's authority.

John,

I don't think any of this was meant as a swipe at you.

KT is trying to do something that has great possibility, but because he made mistakes in the past, he is going to be scrutinzed.

No escaping it.

If he can pull it off, he's then shown every one of the detractors that they were wrong.

In the mean time, I don't see what there is worth getting upset over.

You can bet though, that if any of us try and run for public office, they'll have plenty of ammo for us :)

I'm far from confused. The point of this thread is this, all of us, except for GeraldG, have done some things in our past that we're not proud of, but why does that give people like him the right to come to a billiard forum and attempt to belittle those of us that have? This is not an attack on anyone by me, I just can't stand to see stuff like that going on in here when the accusers are probably guilty of far worse crimes than who they're talking about. Fuck public record, find mine and share it with everyone, I don't give a shit. My closet is wide open for the skeleton seekers to look at. BRB, my favorite dress just fell out, wouldn't want ya to see that.

I agree 100%. I know this wasn't a swipe at me, it was a swipe FROM me. I don't even know KT, never even heard of him until recently, but what he's doing for pool makes him okay in my book. He can't get in my wallet so I'm not afraid of that at all. If he's really scamming us, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes when he has about 10,000 broke pool players after his ass.

The word you are looking for is "hypocrite". You are upset about hypocrites.

I personally would like to see some laws that specifically protect people from threat and harassment from the willful misuse of information obtained from public records.

For example. Let's say you were upset with someone, did some research, and found out they were convicted of a felony. You then mailed that report to their employer. Should it be legal to do that just because it's in a public record?

How about obtaining court records on a particularly ugly divorce or a bad credit report and sending it to the subject's current companion.

This information serves a purpose but it should not be misused. If it is it should be a crime too.

Chris

No, by God, you ARE confused too. I have NEVER said I've never done anything wrong. I said I've never committed a fucking felony, and I haven't. I've done plenty things I'm not proud of, for fuck's sake, I'm over 50 years old. Don't be stupid.

The whole point of what I said about Kevin Trudeau is that he has committed felonies involving FRAUD on MANY occasions and has been convicted of it. He has done absolutely not a goddamned thing to indicate that he won't do it again. I think he is a fucking lowlife scumbag and I'm not going to change my opinion of that. I certainly don't think that he should ever be trusted with anyone else's fucking money, and I don't have any reason to believe a damned thing he says. He has proven over and over that he will LIE to get into your wallet.
