After only 8 months, the shaft is warped. When I am not using it, it lives in a case hanging from a rack away from any external walls. It travels in the car with me & stays in my office when I play after work. My playing cue is older, gets the same TLC & is fine. Explanations?!

I have a question, is it a
#1.Sledgehammer made by Mike Gulyassy or
#2. Sledgehammer made for Mike Gulyassy in Asia or
#3. Sledgehammer made by McDermott for Mike Gulyassy?

I would be willing to bet that the answer is #2
being that 80% TO 90% were made in Asia. IMHO
You can tell the difference by the joint pin!!!!!

The 'warranty' is an illusion. Also removed from his webpage, so I guess it really isn't an illusion. I stand corrected.

Stuff happens. Whatever is being manufactured once in a while a bad one will turn up but the maker deserves a chance to make it right.

So, suppose that now you contact them and if they make it good but you've already damaged their reputation by posting this world wide. This kiind of post will stick in peoples mind and will cause damage because even if they do make it good many people will only remember this thread.

Why not wait until after you've contacted them and if they refuse to make it good then you could blast them.

I had a Sledgehammer shaft made by Mike Gulyassy that had a defect i called Mike he said send it to me and i had a new shaft within a week of sending the shaft back to him. Mike is a very stand up guy im sure he can and will make you happy.
