Why does slow play ill effect my shooting ? I understand the value of patience, yet when playing an opponent that seems to deliberate every move it takes me out of my comfort zone. Does it bother anybody else ? What to do ?

It used to bother me a lot more. Now it only bothers me when it is really slow. I would also like to know some ideas on how to handle this. I think at the end of the day you just have to live with it.

If they are really taking too long I have no problem complaining to them about it until either they move their ass or there's a confrontation. Yes there's shots that take much deliberation but my patience ends at the 30-40 second mark for routine business. Pool should be fun. If I'm not having fun because they can't make a simple decision then they aren't going to have fun either. You can become a major ***** without letting it affect you if you keep your mind right. After all that's what they're doing to you and pool is a "game".
The sooner a 15 sec stop clock is introduced at all levels of the game, the better. I've just watched Power Snooker, which has a 20 second time limit. If snooker can have a stop clock, pool is insane for not having one.
Slow play is the death of pool. Threads which go on about PSR, or excessively about shape, or stance, or approach, or all the other things people that can't play drone on about, make me think 'that's yet another nail in the coffin of the once fun game pool'. Too many people attempt to win by strangling the joy out of the game, and it has to stop.
You do realize that all pro's have a PSR to some degree don't you?
Which part of the PSR is lint-picking?
Couldn't resist..
You do realize that all pro's have a PSR to some degree don't you? Paying attention to your fundamentals and having a PSR has nothing to do with slow or fast play. Lou Butera had a PSR and is one of the fastest players around. It would do you some good to give a little more thought to what you are saying.
Now if someone is taking a excessive amount of time with their stance, approach and psr that is a different story but you have made this comment a few times and I just don't understand it. Talk to anyone who has played against me. I tend to be a fast player and yet I still do all the things you say slows the game. You make it sound like anything short of running up to the table and shooting a waste of time/effort.
I have tried seeing things from your perspective and if I'm misunderstanding you I apologize but it really seems like you are the one that just doesn't get it.
Back in NY we had a guy we called "Cobweb" because he was so slow. I honestly don't think it was a shark technique, just the way he played. It was aggravating but we learned to ignore it. You just can't let it get to you. Easier said than done sometimes, I know.
