When I was younger, New Year's Eve was all about the partying, but for me now, it's just another day. In fact, usually I fall asleep before midnight. :boring2:

So I'm browsing the billiards scene in the newspapers to see what's happening, and I come across a real-live pool NYE (New Year's Eve) party in Bellevue, Washington, with Dan Louie as the house pro. What more could you ask for, I'm thinking. I can't wait for my boyfriend to call his buddy Harry in Seattle and ask him about this place.

This New Year's Eve extravaganza looks like a genuine pool experience. Tickets are a mere 50 bucks. They actually have PRIVATE billiards rooms, as well as a beautiful snooker table. WOW!

Here's the poster.

VIXEN INTERACTIVE? I'd have to check that out.

Seriously, a 20,000 square foot pool hall would be awesome to visit let
alone play in. Dan Louie's presence would be icing on the cake. It's only a 39 hour drive for me so I have to get rolling if I am going to see the first pool ball drop for the New Year.

I'll tell you one thing. If I had a pool room like that in my neck of the woods, I would be one happy camper.

I can't wait to hear from others who have actually been there.

Where's our Washington State players? We want a report on this joint! :D

Absolutely stunning altho the rm with Harbor view is terrific it might be too much light during the daytime.

Wow

JAM -- Thanks for this. I'd heard that Seattle players had found a new room after the closure a few years ago of the venerable 211 Club in Bellevue. But oh my gosh -- this is beyond anything I could have imagined.

Denver has absolutely nothing that approaches this. Our top rooms are as shabby as any you'll find anywhere. Executive chef? Hah. You'd be lucky to get a microwaved hotdog.

One joint, Table Steaks, does some kind of dinner, but nothing approaching this. Wish there were a rich Denver guy out there who'd like to match this.

I was talking with Frank yesterday from Table Steaks south.
They do have a mean prime rib, and it isn't swanky like this place, but is a good hall.

Shakespears was outstanding in the day, but they have gone by the wayside.

I keep hoping for a new room to open.

It's hard to believe that there are no AzB-ers who have been to The Parlor in Bellevue, Washington.

That said, I just noticed on AzBilliards Main Page that The Parlor is hosting a WPBA Regional Tour Championship on February 21-22, 2009.

Article source: http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.php?storynum=6135

This is the first time that The Parlor Billiards & Spirits is hosting the WPBA Regional Tour Championships. The owner, Steve Olson, is excited about having the players come compete at his establishment and is adding $6,000 to the prize fund!

The Parlor is a 20,000 square foot, upscale billiards parlor featuring 34 different pool tables including snooker. With a capacity for 800 guests, this $5 million facility includes two bars with one sporting a 42 foot ice rail for keeping the 75 martinis and specialty drinks cold. The Parlor Pro Shop offers billiards equipment, on-site professional cue repairs, apparel, and services that include hosting leagues, lessons, and tournaments. The facility provides service pagers at the pool tables, free parking, and Wi-Fi in a customer service focused environment. The WPBA is excited about bringing women's pool back into the Seattle area, and are especially looking forward to having the Regional Tour Championships in the beautiful, upscale environment that the Parlor provides

The Parlor is located at Third Floor of Lincoln Square, 700 Bellevue Way NE Suite 300 in Bellevue, Washington 425) 289-7000.

Go to www.parlorbilliards.com for more information or visit www.wpba.com.

Hmm, I wonder if one of those Parlor Vixens will be competing in the event!

They even have fresh and healthy food options at this pool room. This is a dream place, I tell you! :p

I think AzB's Mr. J is just busy building aircraft right now.

Well, I'll bring this thread back up to the top in hopes of maybe somebody giving us a review of this incredibly cool pool room.

Did anybody go to the New Year's Eve celebration last night at The Parlor in Bellevue, Washington?

Joe - I'm actually up in Marysville, which is ~30 miles north of Bellevue (where The Parlor is located) but it's just a hop, skip and a jump down I-5 and then I-405 for me... ~30 minute drive in non-rush hour traffic.

Re having been there, the answer is "yes", but just once and that was ~3 or 4 years ago right after it opened... my buddy, Mr. J and I went down there to check it out . The place IS as beautiful as it looks in the photos that Jennie posted. And yes, it IS pricey as its located in downdown Bellevue, which is quite upscale for this part of the country... and its located on the east side of Lake Washington, which separates Seattle from the eastside towns of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and the like.

That said, the players in the area (including Danny, Harry and many more) frequent The Golden Fleece, which is equipped with ~10 9' Diamond Pro Ams with Pro Cut pockets... one of which was set up for 1-Hole by RKC, which gets a lot of play!

The Parlor is nice but it's principally a w/e hang out for eastside 20-somethings that have plenty of discretionary income.

The golden Fleece (or Dave's place as it is sometimes referred) is the place to play in the Seattle area. Especially since dr. Cue's closed down.

Me and Dan played some one hole the last time I was there and he is the nicest pool player I've ever met. He actually thanked me for running eight and out on him on the tight diamond there and it IS tight. I measured from corner tit to corner tit at 4" even.

That's super tight for a diamond.

He killed me the other four games we played.

That game was the only game he left me a decent open shot in the five games we played.

I'm surprised Rackmsucker and Milo have not replied yet. I have played at The Parlor many time as they hold many NWPA events there and it is truly the most beautiful pool room I have ever seen. As you can tell by the article regarding RTC, the owner, Steve, and manager, Dave, are extremely supportive of women's pool in the area which I very much appreciate. Very classy establishment in a very classy area as Bellevue is not an area for the weak at heart in regards to finances. Top notch place for sure.
