Banned
As is fairly common knowledge, Mr. Wilson has not liked me much for quite a while and was largely responsible for my being banned a while back in spite of the fact that the nature of my comments in the thread in question were FACTUALLY no more "snotty" than those that were directed toward me.

Around the time of being banned, I even complained privately about the nature of the posts directed toward me and was told by Mr. Wilson that I needed to "cowboy up."

But he banned me anyway which led to a series of e-mails between me and Mike...the result of which was that Mike informed me that he was aware that Mr. Wilson "has it in for you."

Bottom line, the ban was quicky recinded.

Now, there comes a thread that has elicited a GREAT DEAL of emotional content here at NPR in that it deals with political issues and one poster...LWW...SPAMMED the thread after bearing the brunt of comments from numerous detractors....by publishing TEN POLLS in a row for the obvious purpose of needlessly disrupting the continuity of the thread.

I RARELY issue bad rep but did so on that occasion.

In addition, I published a single Poll asking whether anyone agreed that LWW deserved Bad Rep for spamming the thread. The vote at last count was 60/40 NO but there were a substantial number of YES votes so clearly, there was merit to the poll.

In response, Mr. Wilson Bad Rep'd me and warned me that he didn't like anyone STARTING trouble...this AFTER a TEN POLL SPAM job from LWW!!!!

Well, I've be fortunate enough to have accumulated over 12,000 REP points and think I have a reasonably high rep-per-post ratio so there seem to be a few here who don't think I am a trouble-maker.

But since Mr. Wilson does and since I don't care to be threatened by him yet again, I am outta here people and wish to thank EVERYONE who has given me positive REP (almost every day as a matter of fact) and wish to express my gratitude for all those who have posted some GREAT information both about pool on the Main forum and various other subjects on NPR.

So long.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Expects to hear more from you in the future, right here on AzB. Everyone needs to take a break now and then.

I have learned you to be a knowledgable poster, and you are a good guy.

Take a couple of weeks enjoying the summer, and when it's getting colder outside I hope that we meet again here on AzB.

I'll be in touch with you Jim, after my trip to Manila.

i agree you'll be back. i left once too for 3-4 days. best regards, eric p.

Jim, you seem like a nice enough gentleman to me, and from someone on the outside looking in, IMO you have let internet forums become way too important to your life. Chill out some and use these boards for what they are intended for... entertainment and gaining knowledge. They are a nice outlet, if not taken so seriously. Take a little break and come back when you have adjusted your attitude.

U can`t blame Mr. Wilson 4 everything, Jim. The truth is that U love 2 argue N U have to B right about everything, even when UR not completely right.

Jim -- Take a break -- a few days, a few weeks. The world will look different when you return. Just remember, we can't allow LWW to run over us with his nonsense. We need thinkers on this forum. See ya.

I agree

Take a break and come on back as I have enjoyed your posts and some of the stories you tell in your posts... Hate to lose a good member.

Say what?

Just take a few days off friend. You are helpful with your advice and appreciated. But its the intarnet son, you "cowboy up" and things will be alright :) No worries man, just relax.

-Good day sir

Jim,

As far as I'm concerned, you're an excellent poster on here and I consider you to be very intelligent on numerous subject matters. Your contributions will be missed and our forum will not be the same without you.

When I saw the numerous threads that LWW started on NPR, I also said, "What the f***???" It just seemed like he could've used one thread to ask his questions. As it is, it looks like he barely got any responses to those many threads.

I didn't vote in your poll only because I feel that handing out bad reps should be reserved for trouble makers. At times LWW can really stir it up with his arrogance but I'm not ready to list him as a troll. Plus, I'm sure LWW got a good laugh from your poll anyway.

Take a break from the madness and hurry on back.

In the meantime, be good and shoot 'em straight.

We've had our differences on here, but with bygones being bygones, it's too bad to see you go.

I wasn't there for the NPR stuff, but here in the Main Forum you've made a lot of effort lately to avoid letting disagreements escalate, and it really allows your posts to shine.

I'm glad we buried the hatchet via PM before you left, and hope to see you back after a short break.

Let's objectify this a little more.

Regardless of whether or not you like LWW's polls, you have no idea what if anything was said to him, do you?

You also neglect to mention that none of his polls are an attack on you in any fashion. That same cannot be said regarding your poll, can it?

You took an opportunity to try and play moderator by posting an inflamatory thread directed at him. I gave you bad rep and expressed my displeasure at your attempts to fan the flames.

You were not even given an official warning, but it was still enough to make you cry that rep was not "green".

What I cannot stomach is all the whiney drama.

I will add, that it appears you take a certain amount of pride in having gone around me to come back to AZB. You have posted these little tidbits on regular intervals.....and yet you wonder.

JMO, but there should be a "Political Discussion Forum". Personally, I don;t give a rat's ass about what anybody's opinion on politics is, and I don't read any of that nonsense over there. Those discussions are always heated, abrasive, and mostly just nasty. Why it is allowed to continue makes no sense.

You could do away with the NPR altogether and most of us wouldn't miss it. The fact that NPR threads are showing up in the Main Forum is a direct result of people trying to avoid the atmosphere over there. That should tell you something, Dave. I think its been out of control for a long time.

I haven't always seen eye to eye with Jim either, but over time I have grown to enjoy his input on this forum as well as CCB on many different topics. It's sad when we risk losing a member that contributes so much to this forum. Ending this just like I started it, JMO.

Totally agree David. Sometimes I have something interesting or funny to post that is NPR. It will get buried by the political nonsense after only a couple of views. There should be an NPR section, but now there also needs to be a political section.

And Jim, if you really want to leave, that's totally up to you, of course. But first loo at why you want to be here in the first place. Then decide.

have to agree

In the few years I have been on these forums we have lost a handful of valuable posters who contributed significantly to the pool content because of things that should never have happened on a pool forum anyway. It seems to me that we need a "coffee room" here for casual chitchat and another forum for those that want to change the world; politics, religion, things that routinely become heated discussions. After providing a coffee room for casual conversation there should then be no NPR on the main forum at all.

As BlackJack said, JMO.

I couldn't agree more, the NPR board is one perpetual flame. There are about 15 members over there who never post anything in the main forum that constantly hijack threads for their own agendas. NPR has gotten way out of hand, and its usually real disrespectful over there. That's the reasone why we have the constant complaints about people posting NPR in the main forum, most members want nothing to do with the NPR forum.

If anyone wants proof of this just do a search on the "mexicans or muslims" thread that was going about a week or so ago. There was all kinds of hateful crap being spewed with that one. Threads like that one are not uncommon at all over there, and its the same culprits everytime.
