i think they were done before 4 am and then didn't start up again until 12:30 ish. there was some time to rest in there. i assume that is what you meant.

Yes it is...I stand corrected.

I understand my misleading choice of a single word...shame...but in knowing the 8-Ball Express family, and SVB's mom I would never 'knock' his accomplishments, but the person I would of rather had on the front page "today" was the player that knocked em out, who is this guy??

Hey Island - Jessie Middlebrooks is a great example of someone that is not available in the AZ picture base, thus the reason he was not on the front page. as mentioned before, if the TD does not send pics or someone catches them at another tournament (which would require they are doing something usually), the pics just aren't there.

many times the TDs send group pictures from their events and so even in the case of Sylver Ochoa, it is difficult to pull just him. i think you get my point and i see yours as well.

In this case, the GSBT is sending a pic of Jessie and hopefully it can be used with the new story - oh and your suggestion has been mentioned to Mike H. for future stories.

Top 10 in USA who is capable of beating ANYONE in a short race on the litter box.

Does he go by two different last names... i.e. Pinegar and Hennessee? I've been confused about that for a while now.

Shane deserves all the recognition he's getting right now. He set the pool world on fire in the last year, and is a class act to boot. There are other good players coming up, John Morra comes to mind, but until they do something big, they will not be getting this kind of recognition. And that's the way it should be.

By the way, don't be so quick to write Johnny Archer off. He isn't through by any means. IMO he is the best man to topple Shane from his lofty perch at the moment, at least in this country. Johnny has been preoccupied with other matters for most of the last year, but look out for him this year. He will win again and more than once. This is one Hall Of Famer who isn't done winning yet. That's my prediction for 2008.

Fwiw, I agree with your prediction. Anybody would have to be insane to write Archer off. He is a very long way from being a has-been.

What will take Shane off his lofty perch is time, that is all it takes. He'll get bored, or he'll start being pulled in too many directions due to popularity, or he'll just lose, without explaination, that sharply honed edge he has right now. He is the best right now and will remain among the best, but the edge will dull.

I also agree with the original post, some other players should get some press time. Maybe an article once a year in the mags about the "up and comers", go a little deeper than the top player.
