Hi everyone,
I have read in numerous books and heard on TV that the pro players like to use a hard tip on a cue. My question is why?
My best guess is it gives more control over the cue ball. It seems like a softer tip would impart more spin on the cue ball (don't flame me if I am wrong please
). Also a softer tip wouldn't need to be scuffed as much. That leaves cue ball control being the only advantage I can think of.
As a disclaimer I have only really shot with a medium tip. Thanks in advance for any replies.
