Looks like a character from the sopranos.
Fats was one amazing guy! The closest thing to the Pied Piper I ever saw. 
And by all accounts Jay, I'm sure he was capable of putting down a Pie or 2.

Wasn't that an entire turkey plus more during an eating contest.
Man, I'd be on the couch for a week.

From all that I have read about him that is a perfect description! ( I wish I could have met him)

This is actually my favorite picture of him, it was very well done. His face seems to tell his life story in that pic. Lots of miles and smiles.
Yeah only 5 years after The Hustler came out, he sure does look a good deal like Gleason.

In almost every picture i ever seen of Fats, he was always smileing, must of been a very happy and content man!
I dont care what anybody says about Fatty, i loved that man and i never even met him!
I agree. I think most of us would have a permanent smile on our faces if we could play pool all day and night and make a decent living from it.
To listen to his stories, he was fairly well off but what it came down to was him living out his final years in a comped hotel suite in Nashville. I think it was Nashville. A little UTube video on him shooting some balls in his hotel suite.
But anyway, I like the third pic down of him. Thats a smile of a happy man. He didn't look too bad off in that video and no matter how he ended up, he lived a full and content life. I believe that he mentioned that he really didn't care about being rich anyway.
It has been posted before but here is the last interview that Fats did while shooting some balls around in his studio flat. At his age he could still pot them rather effortlessly. And he could still tell a good story too.
