Also, I seldom read any other forums and I miss many threads in the Main Forum because the thread title doesn't attract my attention or I don't have a history with the creator of the thread.
It isn't hard for me to pass over a subject that doesn't interest me, I'm surprised that people would complain about getting something for free.
I've seen many threads where people offered something for free and it was well received by most if not all.
About the only posts/threads that I detest are threads that are mean-spirited or just plain vulgar and that doesn't make any difference what forum they are located in.
When someone has written something totally distasteful about myself or another innocent person :grin-angelic:, it really chaps my azz and I have to bite my tongue because I don't send threats in PM's and don't want to make an azz out of myself by posting how I feel at the moment.
I try to post the same way I expect other people to post, with civility.
The bottom line is the Main Forum is a far better place for products to be introduced. Those type of threads produce a lot of good discussion which is healthy for the AZBilliards.
Looking at it from the owner's viewpoint, if you start making some sales and profit due to your posting in the Main Forum, I would hope the "quasi-advertisers" would have the decency to purchase an ad on my website. If they didn't, I would swat them like a fly and never think twice about it. (But I don't own this website)
The bottom line is we are all guests on AZBilliards. It's still a great place to visit, make new friends and squabble with old ones.
