I see this as a challenge of composure.

Both players have a history of getting into a "give-up" mode when things don't go their way. The biggest test for both of these guys, is staying focused when their backs are up against the wall. This is where I think Scott has a slight edge over Dennis. I can see Scott climbing back if he gets down 8 games, but with Dennis, you just never know.

This isn't 10 Ball, where Dennis can shoot his way out of trouble. This is going to wear on both players, especially if one of them gets to double digits on the other.

Should be a great match, and will absolutely test their emotions.

I'm assuming this will be on a Diamond. Does anyone know for sure...?

This is spot on. But I'd wager that Dennis is not known for 1p now, but he might be after this match.

Dennis has won plenty of 1p events. I think last yr a 2k entry event with alex, t-rex, scott etc in it.

Seen him made quick work of t-rex, but in a much shorter race though.

Dennis does seem to play a little over aggressive at times.

Over in the action room there are plenty of people (myself included but for much less than what others are putting up) betting on Dennis. I wonder where the disconnect is....

Dennis takes a long time considering his shots. Longer than most pros, for sure.

But if you leave him a bank, he runs out the game on that inning. Which saves quite a bit of time compared to many players.

...seems like at this level of play, attraction, that the clock would be used. From the 1P
conversation that I've read, the 5 sec. alarm would be banging all night long. I Haven't
play 1P, just now understanding the snooker/straight pool with the 1 end-zone concept,
hell I barely understand the 10 ahead bet at this point.

This is spot on. But I'd wager that Dennis is not known for 1p now, but he might be after this match.

You'd lose that wager. Dennis definitely already is known now and has been known for his one pocket game, has twice won the US Open One Pocket, gambles at One Pocket at DCC. Looks like the Action Room has more people putting their money on Dennis.

A lot of people have Dennis in their top 5 if not their top 3.

I think people overrate knowledge vs. execution.
Never missing a ball combined with basic strategy is pretty damn strong.

Scott knows a lot of obscure and sometimes very cool, impressive 1p shots.
But Dennis meanwhile can put the cue ball to within a chalk-width of wherever he wants
and never misses, not even those "strategic flyers" most players just hope to hang.
Scott tries some of the same difficult, risky shots as dennis, but just misses more.

...I first saw Scott getting 10-7 off Efren at the old QMasters in 2000...
...and Scott is still hungry for knowledge...Efren beat him at the DCC last year...
...as soon as Efren made the winning ball...Scott got on the table to try a tricky long bank
with 3-rail position/safety....took him four tries....but he learned it.

Alex says he learns something every time he plays Scott...but like Dennis, he can hang
with superior execution.
Dennis and Alex would win an al-round....any five disciplines.

It'll be interesting to see how the betting action goes, as it gets closer to match time..I may not bet the farm, but I do give a slight edge to Scott!..If he brings his 'A game', DO is in big trouble, straight shooting will not save him, he lacks the moving skills to survive!..I think Scott is definitely the favorite to beat him to the shot, in any given situation, and he can run some balls too!

PS..Those who think different, give me a shout out..I have been known to bet a few peso's! :thumbup:

It was clear to me that Efren had zero chance.

It's a Coin-Flipped at this moment between Scott and Dennis.
