I went to a specific pool hall last night. First time to this one in a few years. No one at the counter area knew me, and I knew none of them. I walked up to everyone there and said I want to play cheap. I had one taker that said lets play 10 a rack 9 ball. After about 10 games in, it was clear I was outmanned. I was watching him play, and he was old school. (He was 62 years old). He had a very high stance. He had a bit of a poke stroke with his arm, with a lot of wrist action. His hand was nowhere near in a vertical plane with his elbow. As I watched him run out effortlessly, I laughed at myself and said this guy has probably never uttered the words "aiming system" in his entire life, or even thought about it. And neither have any of the other "players" in the room. Only on AZ land do we even think about it. I had fun watching an old school player beat the pants off of me.
The irony coming from the guys that believe in the hokey pokey and after decades still haven't been able to explain it, and aren't even smart enough to understand why it is impossible for them to fully describe and explain all the steps.

20+ years ago, there was this SIMPLE system you could learn in a day.
There are only 3 shots in pool, etc. etc.
One guy posted video how easy it was.
Turned out he didn't even know how to use it properly.
How was he pocketing balls in his videos if he was using the system wrong ( if he was . I don't believe he was. ) ?
How many dvd's and books are needed for one system ?
Then there's a European variant.
There's even a Sacramento variant.

LOL, it's even worse that that. There is a variant for every single person using the systems. Go look at all the threads over the years where they get together and talk. One guys says "I pivot left for that shot" and the next guy says "I always pivot right for that shot". Then somebody says "I aim at center ball for that shot" and the next guys says "I aim at left edge for that shot", etc.
Yet they all claim that the systems work perfectly for them 100% of the time. And they do, because every one of them is making the subconscious aiming adjustments needed to make them work, otherwise they wouldn't be working.

Yep, another one of the clan. The alarm went off and they can't control themselves ever.
It's the same alarm that goes off and calls them together in each and every thread or post about CTE. There's still a couple who have missed it so far but I'm sure they won't disappoint and be in here to back their cohorts to make their presence known.

I wonder why it can't be simplified to a ONE-PAGE diagram.
Before the first DVD came out, it was touted to fix all the confusion.
It caused more confusion.
So, a second dvd came out.
I guess, now you need a 36-page book too ?
I'm not making subconscious adjustments. And CTE works just fine for me.
Guess you went to the wrong pool hall, in more ways then one lol.
They can make a ten hour video, or write a 1,000 page book, but their instructions will always, always lack precision in the steps and will never be nailed down and easily definable and able to be exactly duplicated by anyone with no chance that anybody following the instructions could possibly be doing anything different.
The reason they always leave room for people to be able to do things differently is because if they laid out the steps in detail where they had to be followed very precisely and there was no room for any variation or subconscious adjustment, then it would never work for anyone and everybody would see how they were just shooting balls into rails if there wasn't that room that allowed for the subconscious adjustments.
