Standard Table Conditions Discussion

The rules specifically say nothing on the table during play, but template rack developers paid off the rulemakers for an exception.

There is a war within the billiard scientist community.

Which side are you on?

Are you strict to the word or are you free to interpret the written spirit of the word?
What is your source for the alleged payoff?

Conversations require responses to the other party's inquiries and your continued redirection and inability to provide responses into simple and obvious related avenues indicate you really have nothing to offer.

Well, there's still the question whether this project deserves funding support.

You haven't answered the question of how the physics of the game would change with friction-less cloth? What are the pros and cons? Why would players prefer to play on your friction-less cloth over the normal friction cloth?

You also haven't answered the question of what level of financial support are you looking for? Are you looking for funding just to develop the balls and cloth, and then you'd partner up with Aramith or Cyclops or Predator to develop and market the products?

I will settle for a few public talks given at academic or private institutions. It would be ideal if I can endorse and recruit for my academic institution. My public CV needs some current activity.

I protect my sources.

There's still the question whether this project deserves funding support. And public talks require funding from somewhere.

These are straightforward questions aren't they?

Thats a better discussion with an audience at a live talk. I am curious to see how your scientists and engineers perform in live situations.

Just call my institution and say Justin is being invited can he have a few days off.

I am not sure when peak recruiting season is on your area. My admissions team speak foreign languages, which languages are needed for your students?

Inviting you to a live talk requires funding. And funding doesn't happen without justification. That funding can only happen if you provide an explanation showing that your ideas have merit and are worth presenting in a public forum.

You've said why you think magnetic balls are an improvement. You haven't said why friction-less cloth is an improvement. In what ways would friction-less cloth change the game, and would those changes make the game better in some way?

The configuration for the 15 magnetic balls is where the free sample of my teaching stops.
Why didn't you think of using a magnetic lock on the balls?

Introduction of magnetic balls existed for bar tables, there is a precedence.
For now I will suggest you take a moment to appreciate the discovery of others.

It was post #157 https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/standard-table-conditions-discussion.547160/post-7375992

In that post you described a problem with racking magnetic balls for an 8 ball rack. Can you explain the problem again? I experienced no problems with it.

In post #152 you declared yourself as not being my peer in physics or math, I agree.

Who are you anyway? Do you have a public identity? Or are you a chatbot?

If invited for a public talk, would you or your institution pay for the travel, hotels. and meals?

If so, that still leaves the cost of hosting the talk like room rental, etc. Would you or your institution pay for that?

Invited to give a keynote talk that includes travel, lodging and meals.

If the expenses means staying at someone's house and eating their wifes cooking its ok.

Where exactly am I giving the talk? If its within driving distance then everyone can save money. Is the admissions team needed? That cost money and they have a busy schedule.

What options are on the menu for talk locations? I am curious to meet people that are "working" on related problems.

So you're asking us to foot the entire bill for travel costs? Is there a cost for your time as well? If so, how much would that be?

It would be free if I enjoy spending time with anyone's daughter. If the daughter wanted to spend time hanging out with her parents engaged in academic discussion, then that cost would likely be you provide the cooking and cleaning, we will do the eating and talking.

And what would be the cost if nobody wanted to offer their daughter up for your entertainment?

We could always just shoot pool and talk about what people think could happen? The pool location should be more convenient to me.

So you'd want travel costs covered, but there would be no charge for your time?
Airfare, taxis hotel, and meals would come out to about $2600.

I'm certain that your request for someone's daughter would label you too pig-like to get any support from our funding committee.

The most efficient option would be for me to ask your academic institution to provide the lecture room. That would eliminate all the costs. There might likely be a bigger audience there as well.

Do you want to ask them or should I?

... Conversations..redirection ... inability ... nothing to offer.

or, there's the bear thing. ;)

I have tried to host many talks at my home institution. I only got 3-5 people interested in signing up for free pool nearby out of 7 years of trying.
At my previous institution where I studied for a BS/MS I only met 2 people that were semi serious about pool and that was over a course of 8 years.

If you want to bring people to my institution and specifically request me to a give a talk on something outside of a course syllabus, then yes do it. Are you bringing people looking to hire interns? I have many internationals looking for PTO experiences. Are you bringing people that want to study at the institution? Are you looking to sponsor or invest in a math institute? Institute of Mathematics in Advanced EM systems would be an official term I support.

If I were to ask at the moment all I can say is some random weirdo on the internet wants me to speak at school.

Sometimes hanging out with other people's daughters or sons is not pig-like. Have you ever supported a local sports team and cheered them on?
I can't imagine what pig-like behavior you are talking about.

Then maybe a stream on YouTube or Zoom would be even better. People from around the world could tune in.

What would be the title of your talk?
Do you think an hour would be long enough, or would two hours be better?

I would want guest speakers to show up and invite faculty members instrumental to my growth.

They have some nice demonstrations to stir up interest in specific fields that have gone unnoticed for awhile.

Some of the people I want to invite are from all over the world and need time to free up their schedule.

Most of people attending should have enough seniority to get a few days away from their respective institutions. It should be a workshop with good food and better demonstrations. The problem in Europe could impact the ability for some people to attend.

The talk would be a particle with multiple poles: Justin Systems or finite-dimensional poles
