staying at the table after shooting a safety

I'll usually check if it's on my way to my chair. In most cases though, it's pretty easy to tell if you hooked the guy or not. Especially because I try to play safeties where I freeze the CB to an OB or get very close.

However, I don't have an issue with my opponent checking his safety either so long as he doesn't take longer than a few seconds. I've played some people who mull it over as they're standing there, and they slowly lose their cool over a set.

Regarding shooting with Scott, so long as you don't have the dense mentality that seems to come with having an AZB account then yeah, it's pretty fun.

I think a player has the right to see how his shot turned out and unless he turns and gives you a smirk or makes some comment, I don't see how it could be considered rude or disrespectful.

Could the shooter have aright to assess the incoming players shot to see what shoild be expected when he shoots? As in when balls are close and you figure out what must happen for it to be a good hit...

Possibility?

Seems like I read somewhere that it's still your table until five seconds has passed after the last ball stops rolling. Say a ball lays in the lip of the pocket it's still your turn if it falls within five seconds after it stops rolling. After those five seconds it then is put back at the lip of the pocket.
 
I don't mind so much if the player who's turn is over or nearly over take a look at how they did for their safe. (also who really cares when the precise end of someones turn is? :frown: Matter factor for that is less than 1)

There are so many other things to get upset about, this isn't one. It would be better to add a snarky comment as you pass the outgoing player like "How do you think you did?" and then let him/her peace the eff out.

This is just something else that can get in your head if you let it bother you. Find a reason to win.
 
Not an issue

I don't worry about it. It makes me slow down and probably helps me. If it is done as a sharking attempt, I still don't care. Most of the people I play against don't shoot great safeties so it gives me practice kicking and jumping.

The guy that has a bunch of excuses for loosing is a bigger pain in the butt.
 
I think it is just human nature to want to see the outcome of a shot like that, so I don't think you can get all too worried about it. At the same time, I think it is generally a good idea to be respectful to your opponent, so I think a legitimate effort to stay out of your opponents normal view of the shot and his path to the table is called for while viewing the results of your safety.

There's a fine line between taking a few steps in a particular direction to see if you got him and walking around the table for a minute.

I'll usually say did you get me? When they look and then they give there answer of yes or no. I laugh and say damn or I caught a break there. Then I clear my head make my decision and go through my pre shot routine. What's the big deal. The game is supposed to be fun right?
 
I can live with a player taking a quick peek at how his/her safety came out.

What is ridiculous is when the balls have completely stopped rolling and the player just stands there gawking at the table and layout, KEEPING THE INCOMING PLAYER FROM APPROACHING THE TABLE. There should be a substantial penalty for that.
