I think those that intentionally try to skirt the 25 rule should be required to purchase a years membership prior to being able to post again. Truth is, I think those that avail themselves of the knowledge and collective wisdom here should feel morally obligated to purchase a membership. I'll not argue the point.....but I will maintain that belief.....Dan
agreed Luke, but to my knowledge there was no warning about needing 25 posts. I admit afterwards I felt ridiculous and tried to turn it into an introduction thread but that didn't work either.
I will try to make reasonable comments in the future.
Hanging around as a newbie is far from spamming the board just for the sake of reaching 25 posts.
Which of us is worse off?
Me for considering the trash posts spam or the person who doesn't have enough character to make 25 posts and actually participate in the forum?
This is a joke.
All my previous posts have been deleted and back to zero.
A few weeks ago I was able to view the Action Room and I made a bet on the Masters golf and paid up and lost.
Now I am blocked from viewing that forum until I post 25 times.
So I post a few random things bringing my post total to around 11 or 12.
And now that is too random so I get knocked back to zero.
Okay Mods, please provide the exact wording of the posts you would like me to make so I can view the Action Room forum and continue to bet.
Saying Yang is a Monster is not good enough, too short?
Should I go into how he dumped a match in the WPC in Cardiff and cost me $20,000?
could you into detail with the wpc info? might make for some intresting topics
I honestly do not believe it is Jerry and Mike's intention to make life difficult for any of the 'good guys' who choose to lurk here. They may be much more interested in making things a little more difficult for those who simply want to swing in and be disruptive or possibly, as JAM pointed out, make it somewhat less appealing for those who like to create multiple user accounts/ID's.
Whatever their motivation, everyone should respect the fact that it's their website and, ultimately, their decision as to how they run their business.
Meanwhile, and IMHO, meeting a requirement of making 25 substantive posts should not be viewed as some sort of punishment, but rather, a chance to interact with some nice people who share your passion for pool.
Best,

Dag nab it, I better stop coasting and start posting. I need to get my post count number up. :grin-square:
Happy Easter, Mr. Wilson. I'll bet you-all have bunny rabbits where you live. The foxes in my area don't allow me to see very many bunnies anymore.
Jennie,
Hope you and Keith are having a wonderful Easter! Down here we have a serious shortage of foxes and an overabundance of bunnies. Please come on down and bring all the foxes you can find with you, two legged or four!
Hu (has to admit we aren't short on two legged fox, but a few more never hurts)
Im sure a lot of your customers feel they shouldnt pay time or for sodas either. You may have a reason not to allow that just as the owners of AZ Billiards have a good reason for the count rule. You sure you are the owner?
which way the wind blows.
Nostroke-I think you are just at the disadvantage of not knowing some of the less visible West coast pillars of the pool scene.
Gary runs a good room.
Take care
While I understand the annoyance of the various threads and posts made recently for the benefit of those looking to recover / gain access to TAR and Raffles, I have to say that your post seemed a little harsh. I am, myself, a user who might be considered a lurker... I don't find that I've caused any problems by doing so. I inquired about a couple of items being sold (with intent to buy), asked some questions of cuemakers when contemplating a custom cue, and offered an opinion or two when I thought it was relevant or added to the discussion. It's a very real possibility that many of these cancerous lurkers, to borrow your phrase, are members whose curiosity has been satisfied by using the much touted (and useful) search feature. The "contribution" people like myself make, notwithstanding the new posting frenzy to gain the aforementioned access, is in keeping quiet instead of butting in where we have no place and learning what we are after without bothering the natives.
Holy smokes. I'm glad I got my posts in when I did.
Sorry if this has been answered before, but what is an sc5 ? Someone mentioned it earlier.
