There is a good tournament this weekend that I would like to go to ,so I
thought why not stream it while I am there .I got the right stuff for the
job . Then I think well why not call a few supporters of mine to see if they
perhaps want to advertise while I am there .So all this gets my wheels
turning. See I love pool, I am VERY good with all kinds of video equipment
and over the past year and a half or so have done around 18 tournaments.
Let me say this I HAD A GOOD TIME. However there are a few things that
come up that bother me .I am not hating on anyones action or want to do
anything to hurt anyone who truely supports pool and some of the great folks
I have met doing streams BUT here is a HUGE problem. If I am streaming and
advertising for X cues all the while this is a Z sponsored tournament it sorta
makes me feel in conflict. As it should or so I think.
Now this is just my two cents and I may get bashed but I believe if a tournament
is worthy of a good stream that the tournament director or promoter of the tournament
should negotiate a price with the streamer and
the "DIRECT" sponsors of that tournament should get the press on the stream
This way there is no conflict and Z cues is not watching there tournament being streamed
and sponsored by X cues. I guess I have been through the
mill trying to find the RIGHT way to make this streaming thing work for me and
in good concious I think that is the best way. This keeps everyone happy and
may even help solve the delima of the good streamers getting to the point
where they get paid for what they provide .
In a nutshell , let the tournament director and or promoter ask the tournament
sponsors if they want to pay a little extra to cover a live stream and go from there.
I just hate being in conflict and would like to see live streaming grow and prosper for those
who do a good job of it and have there heart in the right place .So go ahead bash
me ...like I said I had a good time and could at thispoint care less if I stream another tournament
or not. I got a cue and will just pony up my entree fee and play .
