Unfortunately, I took on a small, job for a guy that worked in a bar that we played in.
He was a nice kid, but didn't make much money so I was going to do it for free. Stupid me. Screw in ferrule etc. The more that you touched this thing, it was a thing and not a cue, the more that fell off of it.
He liked the cheap Chinese Molson Canadian cues. The nylon wrap was becoming unraveled, but I figured that I could work it good enuff to fix it up.
I carry a few spools of nylon for the guys who are cheap, but didn't want to do a wrap unless I had to. The way I saw it, if I attempted to spin this on my lathe, parts might start flying off into outer space.
I told him the next time I was playing pool and he asked me if I could put a leather wrap on it. I had to say sorry Buddy. My Free has a few limitations and leather wraps are not included.
Not much of a stupid request from someone that doesn't know much re cues. The cue valued at approx $2.50, I couldn't justify even the cheapest wrap that I have.
Now, if he had given me an old leather coat or something with a thickness that I could have worked with, I may have been tempted to mess about.
Anyway, he has graduated to League, someone gave him a half decent cue, but he still has that one. I never want to see it again, or any other Beer promo cue for that matter.
